It seems to be one of those plays where the guy was left so wide open, that the dickhead in the booth decided that the 49ers must have done something illegal... and sent down the page for a replay.

I believe all scoring plays are automatically reviewed. The Rams did not have to throw the flag out for the play to be reviewed.
