actually watching the replay in the intermission didn't show salo going in for a hit (he doesn't actually hit much) but we are not going to agree so Im going to drop it and wait for shanahan make the call which he will review.

Hitting a guy around the hip/waist is fine...Going low at a guy's knees can end a career.

I disagree on the play. Both players were gliding toward the puck, both players saw each other, and the taller player choose to go for the high hit and he ended up falling over the smaller player.

If a players isn't looking and gets hit low then that's a different situation.

My opinion, as I just posted, is that Salo was going to hit Marchand when he didn't have the puck, it was "in the area". I just don't get how bending over to avoid a check when you don't even have the puck is equal to going at a guys knees.

i would have to see replay again but it looked to me like salo wasn't even going in for a hit
