Ah, subtle understatement.

I need something a little stronger.

I think he's saving his strength for the ban hammer. I'm impressed by his exploits lately

Relax people they're just saving their energy for September... and October. The snakes are showing their youth and blowing their wad early.

I'm reminded of a Bill Simmons piece (yes he's a Boston fan but I think he's pretty entertaining in print (not so much on camera)) where he said the Red Sox finally winning it meant he wouldn't worry about winning anymore for 5 years, wouldn't trash management, wouldn't trash players...for 5 years.

He made it about 6 months into the next season and caved and said he couldn't do it...

I remember that piece. He DID say that a lot of the angst about having never won it went away though. And I would agree with that. This stings, but this slump would be causing me to lose a lot of sleep if The Giants hadn't won the World Series last year.

This really sucks, but we'll be pumped going into next season. As others have said on here, the team still has great young pitching, a great bullpen, and Panda and Posey to build around. We'll be back.

You know, I just thought of this...

Sabean kicked Showtime out. Everyone was surprised that the show ended abruptly, but if you think about it, it is obvious. The early end was not planned. Sabes showed them the door...

I dont think any of of us are really trashing management. When I say I want them to DFA someone to make a point, I KNOW that wont happen. This streak has to be making them even MORE bonkers than us. There is absolutely NOTHING the FO could have done this year with the injuries that it was dealt.

Oh I agree, I guess I meant more about the not caring if they won again for 5 years. I kinda felt the same, like now they got theirs, I wouldn't care so much. But this fucking sucks.

ALthough it sucks a LOT less because of last year.

That would be pretty easy to confirm wouldn't it? Sounds plausible.

Now THAT's some good optimism....could happen! Seriously, we don't have a 0% chance here. I'd say maybe a 10% one.

We were in worse shape last year at this time.

At this time last year, the pitching had completely fallen apart and we had no strong aspect of the team. This year, we still have one of the best rotations in the game, and FYWW

Had the whole staff fallen apart? I thought it was mainly Tim.

Our ENTIRE lineup is fubar. Feels worse.

Beltran, making his presence felt in right.

You gotta admit, he's a crafty vet who knows where he should be playing.

I know that wasn't his fault, but can Beltran at least look like he cares? Does he like the Giants so much that he's trying to bring down his asking price for next year?

:D

I don't think it matters anymore. But I get some comfort from how low his future contract is going.

A thought: do we root for it to get so bad that the attendance collapses, which would get management's attention something fierce, and perhaps encourage a bigger payroll bump?

He looks like a two year, 18 million-dollar player to me. Some idiot gm will likely give him more.
