I have to admit....even though we really need him, I'm concerned for Reid's health potentially coming back so soon.

I heard that Ronnie Lott played an entire season in a concussion-induced fog and still made the Pro Bowl. I hope Reid learns to tackle a little better and doesn't keep sticking his head in there.

I just hate to think of the long term effects for stuff like this. I wish technology was more advanced to lower the risk of head traumas.

and he didn't even hit with head... shoulder to shoulder but Tolbert's heads whiplash off of Reid on the side of the head... just freakish concussion... i hope Reid's diet is maintained properly

Vernon Davis (concussion) has been cleared for non-contact participation.

Coach Jim Harbaugh said both Davis and S Eric Reid are not experiencing concussion symptoms, suggesting both players suffered very mild head injuries Sunday. Davis appears on track to suit up as locked-in TE1 against the Saints. He's already progressed to exercising and lifting weights. The next step will be for Davis to participate in practice, which could happen Thursday.

Michael Crabtree - WR - 49ers

Coach Jim Harbaugh wouldn't rule out the possibility of Michael Crabtree (PUP, Achilles') playing in Week 11 against the Saints.

It's highly unlikely, but a reminder that Crabtree is beginning to get close. "We’ll see," said Harbaugh. "I’m not going to make any predictions today on who that is, but we’ve been encouraged with his progress and there’s other options as well." Crabtree still hasn't been activated from the PUP list. 14- and 16-team leaguers can scoop him up as a stash for the fantasy playoffs.

Jimmy Graham (foot, elbow) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Graham is coming off a game in which he played just 33-of-83 snaps, but he suffered no setbacks and is right on track to play against the 49ers this week. Graham is locked in as a top-two fantasy tight end every week.

Ben Watson (concussion) did not practice Wednesday.

Watson hit his head in the third quarter of last Sunday's game and had to be helped off the field. He'll have to progress through the league's protocol.

Mario Manningham (knee) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

The 49ers are monitoring Manningham's reps after he made his season debut this past Sunday, catching three passes for 30 yards. Manningham is a WR4/5.

Agree 100%. They could still possibly make the playoffs without him. Don't risk what happened to Rice when he came back too early.
