So based on this you feel the chances of Brady potentially getting injured are the same whether he is in the game or on the sideline? Well, shit it all makes sense now.
Um, no. They’re the same whether he’s in the game when it’s close or when it’s a blowout.

The last point is: you are making the wrong comparison.

The comparison isn't Brady when playing for purpose vs Brady playing for no purpose.

It's Brady playing for no purpose vs Brady not playing because there's no purpose. That risk is some what risky vs entirely 0 risk.

No, he said he has a good a chance of getting hurt when up by 43 or down by 28-3, so why sit him just because they have a lead.

BB on Ghostkowski:

"The field-goal operation is a full team play, it's not just one guy. But the most important player is the kicker in that particular play. We just have to do a good job all the way around -- some of it is coaching, timing and execution by the specialists, and protection by the other eight players -- and just work at it. Steve is a good kicker. He's made a lot of big kicks for us. He certainly kicked well last week against Pittsburgh. I have confidence in all the people that are involved here -- coaches, players and specialists and so forth. We'll just have to work harder at it, and expect better results."

While I may have no confidence in the dude gotta hand it to BB for sticking with his guys.

Killer instinct.
When your QB has it, you don't pull him out and say..No, don't kill today.

I'll put my vote on keeping TB in all the way to the end.
BB seems to every time and I defer to him.
Despite some play calling mysteries over the last few years I'll side with Bill.

Yeah I get that. But when you are up by 43 or 33 Risk vs Reward should be a consideration.
Another way to put it, if you are really trying to emphasize playing for 60 minutes, play for 45 minutes, then run laps for 15.

I should have added "and to simulate game conditions, have him run with a bunch of lacrosse guys whacking him with their sticks".

But what if he pulls a hammy running laps or suffers a broken wrist from an overly aggressive lax bro?

You should save your interjections on the back and forths that aren't civil.... As far as I can tell, this one is civil, at least my participation is... Sometimes perspectives need some back and forth to truly complete a debate... It's not like we're saying "fuck you/eat shit" or even :) "eat dick" :) .

I never said STFU. It's just that you two have this ongoing pissing contest. Most of the time it gets beyond "discussion". While Reb thinks it's his God given right to chastize or argue with any statement he doesn't agree with, there are also ways to input that don't necessarlly piss people off and turn off others. There's nothing wrong with a healthy argument and expressing a point of view but we're all Pats fans and we all have different points of view. There just comes a point where two people have to agree to disagree.

And to agree that you both have the same point of view but just can't agree to the way the other guy expresses it. 8^)

I didn't imply that at all. I think reb and I figured out we were pissing up the same pole quite a while ago. The post was a discussion not an argument.

Read through some posts and you'll even see he ivited me over for a beer without expectation of sex.

There had been times when Brady was left in unnecessarily and knocked on his ass. I think the way they're doing preseason has something to do with this. They're waiting longer to play the starters. Plus they JUST got Brown, Miami was more of a scrimmage, if you're gonna do it, Sunday was the time. I wouldn't do it against a more competitive team.

We all know the game is 60 minutes no need to continue to state the obvious. And the starters you could rest and protect have plenty of exp with game time speed, we're not talking a shit load of rookies and first year guys.

I can't help but think people who share your philosophy might sing a different tune if the Pats are up 35 to 0 in the 3rd then Brady takes one to the knee and is lost for the season. Sure would have been nice to have sat him when the situation dictated it could have been done. Sure would have been nice to get Stidham and some other less experienced guy's some of that game time speed experience you spoke of.

We are lucky nothing happened to key members of this team because the Pats wanted to be greedy, and greed is all this really is.

I agree with you on giving others a chance to play and generally agree with resting starters.

I disagree that it is greed. It is a policy. We are still getting players up to speed. Defense is playing well. Offense not as much as the score would make you think......

We know that. They know that (at least they should). It's obvious by now that they're gonna play at a high level whenever possible at all times. They're willing to roll the die, so they must be willing to accept the consequences if it goes wrong. Then they'll ask us if we can really argue with their winning formula.

It is my god given right, its called free will. Stop acting like such a pussy. If I don't agree with something I'll express it you don't like I really don't give a fuck

Like I said, you have a difficult time dealing with anything that you don't agree with.

Of course you also ignored my 30 year old smiley face from the days before emojies.
