One thing for sure. Patriots will be in Buffalo for the weekend.

NFL will announce the weekend schedule tomorrow as games are being set for Saturday, Sunday and Sunday Night.

Critical playoff games will be set for prime time.

Patriots and Bills could be pushed to Sunday Night.

Hard to see the Pats winning this. We’ll probably get blown out but:

Pats 19
Bills 12

The Bills play the Bengals tonight (1/2/23) at Cincinnati.

Bills (12-3) sit a half game behind the Chiefs (13-3) and hold a regular season win over the Chiefs.

A loss to the Bengals would force McDermott to play all of his starters if the game against the Patriots goes as scheduled at 1:00 PM Sunday.
If the Bills win tonight, You can bet your last buck that NBC will flex the game to Sunday night because it will be critical if the Chiefs win Sunday.

All for an extra week off. OR maybe, just maybe, the Patriotc and Bills will play Sunday afternoon and the Chiefs game in Las Vegas will be the Sunday night game.

Plan on the Patriots and Bills being the Sunday night game.

The Patriots’ big win on Sunday over the Dolphins pushed them back into the playoff picture, with another boost coming just hours later as the Jets lost to the Seahawks. Now back in the 7th seed, New England remains in control of their fate – a win in Buffalo next week ensures a spot in the playoffs.

But what if they lose?

There are a lot of scenarios that could play out for the Patriots to remain as the final wild-card team. The easiest, of course, is simply beating the Bills next week. However, because there is little optimism of that actually happening, New England could still make the playoffs with the help of several outcomes next weekend.

One way the Pats make it in:

  • — The New York Jets beat the Dolphins AND
  • — The Cleveland Browns beat the Pittsburgh Steelers AND
  • — The Jacksonville Jaguars beat or tie the Tennessee Titans
With the Patriots and Dolphins eyeing the final spot, the Jets (who have already been eliminated) getting a win in Miami would eliminate the AFC rival from the playoffs. Despite the lousy showing by Jets’ quarterback Mike White on Sunday, the Dolphins will likely be down to their third-string quarterback, increasing New York’s chances of winning.

The Steelers’ comeback win over the Ravens on Sunday night didn’t help the Patriots’ cause, but the Browns defeating Pittsburgh next week is not out of the question.

The Jaguars have been on a hot streak as of late, winning four of their last five games over the Texans, Jets, Cowboys, and Titans. With Tennessee dealing with so many injuries to their team, this Jags could finally make their return to the playoffs with a win, securing the AFC South division title and helping the Patriots simultaneously.

But the most valuable part in all of this for New England? The scheduling.

The NFL released the first games of week 18 shortly after Sunday Night Football’s conclusion, revealing that the Chiefs at Raiders and Titans at Jaguars will take place on Saturday. This means the Bills, the Patriots week 18 opponent, will know their fate before kickoff on Sunday afternoon.

The Bills need a win over the Bengals on Monday night to increase their chance of remaining as the number-one seed. But even with a loss in Cincinnati, the results of week 18’s Saturday games will likely determine if coach Sean McDermott rests his players against the Patriots, which raises the possibility of a Patriots win in Buffalo.

Bills are in shock with the injury to Hamlin tonight.

This could be postponed to tomorrow or Wednesday. If he dies, I can't imagine that football will be their primary concern going forward.

9 Minutes of CPR and had the AED applied. His heart stopped and he wasn't breathing.

Game has been suspended for almost an hour, waiting for the league office and the NFLPA to make some kind of decision whether to cancel where both teams would take a loss, Buffalo forfeit or postpone and restart the game with the score 7-3 Bengals and the Bengals with a 1st and 10 on the Buffalo 47 or 48.

Just a horrible situation.

Why would option one be a double loss instead of a tie?

But first and foremost I'm only concerned with Damar.

As of 7:00 am the game has not been rescheduled., By rule, it must be made up within two days. The regular season officially closes Sunday. It cannot be rescheduled after Sunday as teams must prepare for the Wildcard weekend games and both the Bills and Bengals are in the playoffs. The league will not reschedule the entire final weekend and post season for this event.

The Bengals will want to complete this game. With a win they slide in the #2 position. That makes week 18 critical for everyone.

Chiefs are in LV
Bengals are in BAL
Bills host the Pats

Everyone needs wins. Only team that gets an advantage from a tie is Buffalo. Ain't happenin'

That would mean they would have to play the game today or Wed, then fly to Buff and play Sunday. The league is in a pickle with this one.

The entire Bills team flew back to Buffalo early this morning.

Hamlin is under heavy sedation and is still in critical condition as of 8:30 am this morning.

The game HAS to be played no later than tomorrow night. It cannot be played after due to the Week 18 schedule kicking in Thursday night and games are scheduled for Saturday.

Possible scenarios:

Bengals declared the winner 7-3. Not a good call for the Bills.
Bills forfeit. Again, poor call for the Bills.
Declared tie. This would create a shitstorm. Bills would be 12-3-1 and literally be handed the Bye. Chiefswon't buy into that and neither will the Bengals.
Play the game tonight. That would mean that the Bills have to fly back and play on short rest.
Play the game tomorrow night. This is the best scenario.

Note,,,,,,,,The game will be continued from the point of stoppage.
7-3 Bengals
5:58 remaining in the 1st quarter.
Bengals get the ball on the Buffalo 47,48 or 49 yard line or wherever the last play ended.
Bengals 1st and 10.

Well why would the fly back if the game was to be played tomorrow. Seems to me the league told them something that would warrant them flying back to Buff.
