I'd consider any of the Christopher Guest mockumentaries and Black Sheep on top of a few already mentioned.

Ditto on MASH, Ghostbusters and Annie Hall. Annie Hall doesn't have the big laughs that the other films here do.

I liked Austin Powers but it wasn't laugh out loud funny IMO. :suds:

I have this 5' tall Dutch mother-in-law.

And when Michael Caine said in Goldmember "There's only to 2 things I can't stand. People who aren't tolerant of the ways of others. And the DUTCH!!!"

I guffawed....

The Groove Tube and Kentucky Fried Movie were super funny when they came out. I thought Richard Pryor's "Which Way Is Up?" was one of the most hilarious movies ever made.

I was actually in slapshot.
Was a kid when they filmed it, and was in an audiece shot.
That's an oldie for sure.

No shit? I served with a guy whose brother was in the film. Said he was the little kid that runs in and warns the opposing fans the bus is coming in the "mooning" scene.

Truly one of my all-time favorite movies. Have you ever read Dave Hanson's book...Slap Shot Original: The Man, the Foil, the Legend? very funny read!

Airplane is pure genius... Not sure anything can top that. But Naked Gun is awesome as well... I've always been a huge fan of Jim Carrey movies. How come nobody has mentioned Me, Myself & Irene? That shit had me bursting out laughing every 10 seconds!!!

And I too enjoyed A Knight's Tale. Funniest ever? Probably not. Definitely an honorable mention, though.

I can't choose the best. Comedies are my favorites in general and there are too many too list.

I do have a soft spot for Life of Brian as far as Monty Python goes. I like it more than Holy Grail. Even though Holy Grail is extremely funny, I enjoy the way Life of Brian mocks the dogma's of religion.

The end of Life of Brian where he tells them they are all unique and such, and they all repeat it, and then the 1 guy says "I'm not" is perhaps the best line all time of any movie. Pure genius.

I agree...while Holy Grail is a funny movie, I much prefer Life of Brian. That scene at the when he's on the cross and they're doing the closing number....when they show the suicide squad and the only thing moving is their feet, tapping a long to the song...don't know why, but the first time I saw that I laughed so hard it hurt.
