I thought the first Hot Shot was funny. I loved Airplane.

Planes, Trains & Automobiles is listed. I am also a huge John Candy fan, wanted to put Uncle Buck, Great Outdoors and Harry Crumb on the list but decided to give others a chance.

I voted for Holy Grail, but Major Payne is a terribly underrated movie. Its not just for kids anymore.....

I'm curious cal which ones are head scratchers to you because I thought I listed some of the funniest movies of all time.

Comedies, especially, are VERY open to taste, so that is why I want going to call out any in my original post.

But IMHO...

Dumb and Dumber and Ace Ventura were pure crap.
Superbad and PT&A, while funny, don't belong in this discussion.

Seeing as D&D and AV have received votes, my opinion differs from others...

off the top of my head, the top 10 are (and I stress this is not a complete or accurate list..)

If I want to stretch, I could go with Its a Mad Mad Mad Mad World or some of WC Fields stuff. I am not familiar enough with fields to argue the point, though.

A lot of movies getting mentioned here that I love, and while they are clearly comedies, I don't classify as "comedies" in my head.

Office Space and My Cousin Vinnie in particular. GREAT movies, but they are much more complete, so that is why they are great movies. Simply as comedies, I can't rate them.
