I didn't read the links, just going off of ESPN yesterday...

Fuck that. ACC should force their hand here, join or take the season off while we play.

I hope the Irish win the ACC this year. That would be awesome!

realistically I don't think they have much chance against Clemson anyway.

How would it work with 15 teams anyway?

If ND wanted to join a conf. full time, couldn’t they just find a better conference with more money than the ACC? What the ACC/ND has is a win-win for both sides

ND would probably have the choice of the litter given the money and viewership they would bring to the conference. It may be a win/win... but it could be a bigger win for the ACC lol.

But they wanted to be independent, now they need to deal with that decision even in the case of a pandemic.

ND is contractually obligated to join the ACC IF they join one through the end of the current deal.

FTR, I am fine with ND playing whoever is on their schedule... just not win/compete for a "conference title" - THAT I am not down with.

When do they play Clemson?

That's what I heard also. Seems reasonable in this crazy year. They should be in the opposite division of Clemson.
Would be dumb if they didn’t have a chance to play twice. 1. They were already scheduled to meet in south bend. 2. Put them in separate divisions and help the ACC championship game be watchable

Trying to decide who to pull for in a game between Notre Dame and Clemson is kinda like trying to pick a favorite in a fight between a rat and a cockroach.

Yeah, they definitely would be the favorite against anybody in the ACC except Clemson.

They'll probably lay waste to the Coastal.

ND has a GREAT agreement with the ACC. They get paid, and still don't have to play in the ACC championship game to make the CFP, so of course they would join for this season only. They have a great record in the ACC since their agreement too.

This also helps the ACC with having two really good teams to compete in the ACC this year. Sure UNC, Miami can come out and shock people (maybe?), but ND and Clemson are the two clear tier 1 schools in that conference heading into the fall.

BTW it's best that they do play in the same division and play just once.. why? Because if any of the other teams in the other conference slip up, the loser between ND/Clemson with only one loss will be a strong candidate for a #4 playoff spot.
