I saw this over on the Bengals.com Message Board. A fan has opted to give back to the community and created a contest for folks wanting Steelers vs. Bengals MNF tickets by encouraging people to to give back to their community. It is a pretty awesome gesture...

Good Morning all my fellow Bengal's Fans:

This year I bought two extra tickets to the MNF game versus the Steelers in anticipation to sell. However, with the recent stories of the Bengal's players giving back to the community, I have decided to take another alternative. I have recognized over the years that the economy has been tight for some and they do not have the means to pay for tickets. So I want to offer this alternative for those that would like an opportunity to go to a game and in this case a MNF game versus the Steelers. If this is well received I will make this an annual event. (MODS please leave in main forum so more people can see).

CHALLENGE:

I am a big supporter of anyone reaching out to the community and getting involved in any way they can to help those less fortunate or to just clean up the city they love. Therefore, my challenge to those that want to accept it is to do perform an act of community service or volunteer work and post your efforts on this thread. It can be anything, cleaning up a street, helping a neighbor with a project, serving meals, etc. Each post will be open to review by your "peers" (fellow posters and Bengals fans) whoever gets the most votes for their efforts and community work I will reward with 2 tickets in section 202, row 30, seats 12&13 for the MNF game versus the Steelers. I will also give you $100 for food & beverage purchases.

RULES:

- Eligible entries will be from this time period 7/19/2013 8am EST - 8/16/2013 11:59pm EST.
- Voting will take place 8/19/2013 - 8/23/2013 11:59pm EST
-Results and announcement will be made no later than 8/31/2013.
- Volunteer work and/or community outreach can take place in ANY city, does not have to be in Cincinnati. I realize Bengals fans are from all over so I want to cater to them as well.
-The posting of your efforts should contain at least one picture of your service and a paragraph describing what you did and why. SELL IT!!! The more detail the better.
-Wearing Bengals merchandise while performing the service is not required but strongly encouraged.

This is our chance as Bengal's fans to give back to the community and represent our favorite team in a positive way. No act is too small so do not be discouraged, BE CREATIVE!!!

In the future years if this is well received I will try to incorporate other rewards for runner-ups and better tickets. (I may be able to conjure up something this year, I will keep you all posted). I hope that this takes off!

WHO DEY!

Sean

Ha. This kind of shit makes me puke.

You want to go to a game? Get a fuckin job.

You are opposed to community service? Trying to make the community a better place for those less fortunate? Or are you just opposed to this guy giving away two free tickets and the $100 to a schmuck that maybe couldn't afford to go any other way?

What happens if the winner is a rich guy that is a real activist in the community, and he winds up winning the tickets just because he does more in the community? He could easily afford the tickets, but happened to win because he is the most giving in the community.

Do nice things for people under the radar. This "look at me" shit pisses me off.

I agree people can do things for one another without having to be recognized, but the fan who is "sponsoring" this so to say, he is trying to get more people involved who may not have gotten involved before, just because they have a chance to go to a game and get 100 bucks. If that is what motivates some people, then cool, he alone, by sponsoring this, got more people out in the community involved helping one another. Granted, it may only get a few people out involved, but that is more than just him, so he succeeded by generating more community assistance than was being done before he did this. Good for him.
