Adam Schefter:

Bill Polian said the Lions, with Reggie Bush, will be the new "Greatest Show on Turf."

Him running on that field turf will be fun to watch. However, they still need help opposite of Calvin to make it really dynamic. Pettigrew is fine, but they need that X factor opposite Calvin. I think they could target that player in the 2nd round in this year's draft.

PFT:

RB Lex Hilliard signs one-year deal to stay with the Jets, per league source.

-----------

Shawn Zobel:

Heard teams are waiting for the big dominoes to fall (Welker, Long, S. Smith, Jennings, Revis) before the next wave of signings come

----------------------

Adam Schefter:

CB Drayton Florence to the Panthers on a 1-yr deal.

it's really weird to me that Pettigrew hasn't taken off. He seems to have all the tools, a good QB, a great WR to draw away attention...I just don't get how this guy doesn't put up monster numbers in such a pass happy system.

Drayton Florence - DB - Panthers

Panthers signed CB Drayton Florence to a one-year contract.

This is the only kind of free agent cap-strapped Carolina can afford. Florence is 32 years old and was released twice last season, first by the Bills and more recently by the Broncos. He finished the season with Detroit, making 19 tackles across eight games. The Panthers are so thin at cornerback that Florence will be in the mix to start. He wouldn't make most other teams' rosters.

Steven Jackson - RB - Rams

The Green Bay Press-Gazette "hears" the Packers are working on a three-year deal with free agent Steven Jackson.

It looks like the biggest holdup right now in this deal is money. The cap-conscious Packers have a number they're hesitant to budge from and Jackson's camp is trying to create some leverage. Nothing appears imminent right now, but at the two sides are talking.

Source with knowledge of market says slot receivers are "getting screwed," and that there's now a chance Danny Amendola returns to Rams.

We've got some cap space to screw over a couple players...might be worth the money for Amendola.

Rick Stroud:

There's a sense that no deal with the Bucs for Jets CB Darrelle Revis is 'imminent,' and reports of an agreement on compensation is not true
