Bob Glauber:

In Year 1 of free agency in 1993, Reggie White visited 7 teams over 37-day period & signed 4-year, $17 million contract with Packers (1/2)

Last year, Mario Williams visited one team over a three-day period and signed a six-year, $96 million deal with the Bills (2/2).

Hartline lands 5-year, $30.77M deal from Fins

Dolphins re-signed WR Brian Hartline to a five-year, $30.775 million contract with $12.5 million guaranteed.

The $6.15 million annual average is actually a tick less than expected, but GM Jeff Ireland still overpaid. While Hartline's 2012 stat line looks decent on paper -- 74 catches for 1,083 yards -- he needed top-20 targets to do it and accounted for 16.2 percent of his receptions, 23.4 percent of his yards, and 100 percent of his touchdowns in Week 4 at Arizona. (He only scored once all year.) Hartline is just 26 years old, but he's a middling No. 2 NFL receiver lacking true playmaking ability and long-range upside. Particularly if the Dolphins pair him with Mike Wallace, Hartline will likely be overvalued in 2013 fantasy drafts.

Cardinals are expected to target a quarterback, but who? | ProFootballTalk

Yes, the options are limited.

Unless, of course, the Raiders cut Carson Palmer. There’s speculation in league circles that the Cardinals are waiting for that to happen.

Palmer is due to receive a base salary of $13 million in 2013. The Raiders are expected to press him to take less, and to cut him if he won’t.

Once again, don’t rule out the possibility of a trade, coupled with a new deal that pays Palmer less than $13 million but more than the Raiders are willing to invest. Even if the Raiders get only a low-round draft pick, it’s better than nothing.

Especially after giving up a first-round pick and a second-round pick to get him.

I wonder what they'd take for him in a trade.

LT Jake Long met with Dolphins medical staff today, but that's as far as today's contact between Miami and Long went.

Larry Holder: Saints RB Chris Ivory has has been issued a second-round tender, according to a source.

I guess this is probably a good thing unless the 49ers wanted him. He's one of the few guys I'd want as the replacement to Gore eventually. Eddie Lacy being FAR AND AWAY my favorite option that's at least somewhat realistic. Anyways, since the 49ers aren't going to get him I'm fairly happy to see that he got the 2nd round tender. I've said for about 2 years now that he'd scare me in the Packers offense. Yes, I'm aware of his health history.

Jason La Canfora:

The Cardinals put a 2nd round tender on QB Brian Hoyer, who would have had plenty of action if on the low tender. Short supply of FA QBs

I'm somewhat happy about this.

Door open for Antoine Cason and Quentin Jammer to come back to Chargers. But they'll test market and likely find better deals elsewhere.

I know Sick has brought up Jammer before.

Darren Urban:

Adrian Wilson acknowledges that playing for a contender, playing on west coast is "best case scenario." But he knows he has to keep options open.

Adrian Wilson admits today's move does provide some fuel to "finish my career strong" wherever he goes.

Adrian Wilson said he's not going to move from Arizona, not with kids entrenched here.

Two potential QB targets are no longer available for Cleveland Browns | cleveland.com

One NFL source said he still expects the Browns to try to trade for New England Patriots backup Ryan Mallett. Another said coach Patriots Bill Belichick won't part with him. The Boston Globe recently reported it would take at least a second-round pick to land Mallett, a former third-rounder.

Now that would be an interesting combo. Mallett might really thrive in that system with his big arm. He and Josh Gordon would get along famously. If they got Cook as well, they might be really scary on offense.
