great news
I disagree. I was hoping Seattle would pony up for him. I think that was a bad signing by the Bears.
great news
Whatever will help keep our QB (and honestly, Alex Smith) from being injured is what I care about most. All reputable pass rushers leave our division rivals and/or join us for cheap.
Jared Allen not joining the Seahawks is great news no matter how you spin it.
Seattle not signing him to a 4-year, 32 million dollar deal is not good news. They're just going to spend that money on players who will help the team more in the long run.
Does it really matter? One contract like that will not handicap them. Especially with the cap that will keep increasing. They would've been in fine shape to retain their own players one way or another.
Yes it matters; no it wouldn't have handicapped them. But one signing doesn't have to "handicap" a team for it to be bad news for them.
Seattle is doing quite well this offseason, and they dodged a bullet by not signing Allen. I'm just glad they didn't successfully low-ball Henry Melton.
I wonder what it would take for the Niners to sign him. He needs to come home to the Bay Area. Might need to restructure some of the existing contracts. If Niners sign him, they can focus on CB in the first round. Just imagine Jackson, Boldin, Crabtree and Davis.
