As long as they are "rehabbing" or developing QBs, I think Sanchez could have been a better choice. More expensive? But no draft pick. More experienced with more wins in the playoffs. Trading for Gabbert and trying to lower the contract perhaps affects extension talks with Kaepernick less than signing Sanchez for more than Kaepernick is paid.

Quarterback Mark Sanchez joining Philadelphia Eagles - ESPN

"He would be the third quarterback on the Eagles' roster, joining starter Nick Foles and backup Matt Barkley."

Third to join and joining those two, but insure he'll be in competition to be the main backup. If so, what that says about Barkley and their ability to draft QBs isn't good (unless they can trade Barkley later).

Sanchez should have went to New Orleans and sat behind Brees.

Probably. The Broncos, Bucs, Cardinals, and Browns would have been better choices as well. At least those teams are going to be in need of a QB in the next couple of years unless they address that need in the draft.

At this point I would be shocked if we went CB early. I'm thinking WR and maybe even trading up.

I appreciated it. You kind of made me sad when you posted the article about the 49ers wanting to pay Kap 18-20 million a year. This picture brought me back to a happier place.

They are loading up on CBs in the case that they can't hit in the second IMO.

I really don't think we go WR in the first round unless somebody is there that they really like and they feel they can get a solid CB in the 2nd. I wouldn't be surprised if we traded up in the 2nd round to grab one of each.

I'm glad he's not with the Seahawks. They're saving their cap space for the impending contracts of Thomas, Sherman, and Wilson.

A small part of me, at the very least, kind of hoped that the aging and somewhat rapidly declining Allen had chosen the Seahawks so they'd be stuck with his type of contract, which would've been lower than the one he got in Chicago.

A friend of mine for who know what reason likes Allen and sort of likes the Bears. I guess now I won't have to root against him and he could help the Niners somewhere down the line (beating Green Bay this year or maybe Seattle eventually when the divisions rotate).
