@AdamSchefter: Cleveland Browns will be releasing quarterback Brandon Weeden, per @MikeSilver.

That didn't last long. Browns obviously going Qb early in the draft.

I think they like Hoyer better as well

I fear they could go after James Jones to help replace him. It was sickening that the Packers were able to keep him for as long as they did for as little as they did. Jones to them could be one of the better FA signings this year IMO. I wonder if they'd have interest in Steve Smith, too? Man, I am really hating the last two offseasons. Obviously this one has a long way to go though.

@MaioccoCSN: A year ago, Isaac Sopoaga signed with Eagles. Today, the Patriots cut him. And 49ers have moved on with Glenn Dorsey & Ian Williams at NT.

#Matt Maiocco

It's stuff like this that makes me confident in the 49ers front office and coaching staff. I can't think of any FA off the top of my head that we've let go that has had huge success elsewhere or that I felt was irreplaceable. I think Ginn maybe the closeist.

FA the 49ers have let go recently...Manny Lawson, Nate Clements, Reggie Smith, Abroyou Franklin, Isaac Sopoaga, Blake Costanzo, Ted Ginn Jr.

It seems that the FO has their priorities straight and sign the right guys to contract extensions and let the easily replaceable guys walk.

If he was cut a team can offer him whatever contract they like right??

He said he wanted to play here so why not make him an offer

Profootballcentral said he wanted to play here which means nothing because that site is full of shit.

This tells me Crabs would have been a goner when his deal was up.
@MaioccoCSN: RT @Softykjr Golden Tate said the 49ers showed interest in signing him but he couldn't do that to Seahawks fans. > WR signed with Lions.

55s CB Darrelle Revis and the New England Patriots have reached agreement on a one-year, $12 million deal, league sources told ESPN.

Worst news ever

Breno Giacomini - T - Seahawks

Jets signed RT Breno Giacomini, formerly of the Seahawks.

A very limited talent, Giacomini has forged a career as a starter with sheer determination and physicality. He's a brawling blocker, and will take the place of Austin Howard in New York. We wouldn't call it a big downgrade, but it's certainly not an upgrade, either. The Seahawks essentially made no attempt to retain Giacomini. He's a rather uninspiring addition for Gang Green.

Oh man. Sucks to be a Raiders fan.

Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet 4m

Unreal RT @BairCSN: #Raiders announce that Rodger Saffold failed a physical and will not be signing with the team

Uh, money?

It's the same reason Donte Whitner would leave a contender to go play for the fucking Cleveland Browns.

I ain't hating though, because while most fans hate players leaving to take a bigger payday, we would all do the exact same thing if the situation was reversed; no matter how much we want to bullshit and say we wouldn't.

Wow

FOX Boston reports free agent CB Brandon Browner will visit the Patriots on Thursday.
Suspended for the first four games of 2014, Browner would be a press-specialist luxury for Darrelle Revis and the Pats. The Jets have also expressed interest, but the Pats appear to be his first visit. Browner turns 30 in August.
