Browns assigned the transition tag to C Alex Mack.
It's a one-year, $10.039 million tender. Aside from the much higher salary, the transition tag essentially functions as the lowest restricted free agent tender, giving the Browns the right of first refusal. They would have five days to match if Mack signs an offer sheet with another team, but would receive no compensation if they decide to let him walk.

The #Steelers say they have designated LB Jason Worilds as their transition player. Simply didn’t want to lose him.

Bernard Pollard - DB - Titans

Titans re-signed SS Bernard Pollard to a multi-year contract.
Pollard broke the news on his Twitter account. Aside from the fact that it's a multi-year deal, terms are unavailable. One of the league's hardest hitters, Pollard is coming off a typical season, racking up 99 tackles, three interceptions and 0.5 sacks. Pollard isn't much of a center fielder, but sets the tone against the run. The Titans liked the "edge" he provided in 2013. Pollard turns 30 in December. He's been with four teams in his eight-year career.

Could be a benchmark for Whitner.

I would be interested in Verner for 3-4yrs at 4-5m per... The other two corners are just gonna be too much money..

Verner for 4 - 5 million? You'll have to do better than that. More like 7 to 8 million. At least.

Thoughts on signing Avant? He's a good slot guy skilled in blocking and good leadership.
