I think the uneasy truth is that there are a lot of North American NHL players (not just American, but Canadian as well) that are Trump supporters or if not Trump supporters certainly lean to the right/conservative way of viewing things. It does make sense as they view that side as the one that are going to keep taxes low and that's their main priority as high wage earners.
And as such, they're the ones that actually get the tax breaks.

I feel like this US team was a split personality between the overrated and the underrated. Werenski, Larkin, Connor (all friends by the way) underrated. Werenski less so going in, but Larkin started the tourney on the 4th line and Connor got scratched in the crucial game.

Fox, Miller, Kreider, Trochek. So Overrated.

Trump just pardoned Connor Hellebuyck.
The News American wanted to buy this joke from me, after they googled Connor Hellebuyck.

Sounds like USA hockey as long as I've followed the game closely - since 97 or so...

I'd disagree but I could understand them saying while Caulfield wasn't on the team. It would be bullshit but they could justify it.

I'd love to hear a reason while Kyle Connor didn't play the games he didn't. Great offensive center, decent defensively. Let's start the hurt guy and the old guy.....

Sadly even Guentzel who was one of their better players gets overlooked. At least they kept playing him, honestly I bet that had to do more with Sullivan than anything. And as long as meatheads (IE..Guerin) are in charge this will continue into the Olympics.

I have to admit, the thought crossed my mind that they would have probably found a way to keep Johnny Gaudreau off the team. Probably using almost all of the same words that they used to justify not using Caufield.

One of my favorite Playmates of all time chimes in...Good Canadian lass.

Well @dash will be gone for a little while.

Wouldn't be surprised if he digs under the couch cushions for his VHS copy of Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death
