So RA, I assume you been to Tahoe. That lake is so deep blue - I assume from the depth. My daughter's volleyball team (when they were 17) all got their bikinis on and wanted to go for a swim. LOL, The idea of a swim didn't last long because of the lake temperature. Reno wasn't very impressive, but it got chilly at night in early July and I thought that was perfect. Stay at the Nugget where I-80 goes right over the top of.Downtown San Francisco. You don't want to be driving a clutch car there. Been there, done that. 1977 to be exact.
Cable cars are cool. Because when you think San Francisco, I think cable cars. Coit Tower.
The wharf was okay, but a big tourist trap. But, you should do it once. Ghiradelli Square(I think that was what it was called) for chocolate.
The birth of the hippy nation. Haight Asbury, the intersection of two streets. If my memory is good, I think the area had a lot of nudie bars when I went there. Guys out in front trying to hussle us college boys in for debauchery. I was not in the Navy.
I worked for a company in Menlo Park, and I took quite a few trips there. I also lived in Reno, Nevada and drove to San Franciso quite often as it was only a three hour drive.
I can attest to the fact about the fog. San Francisco can be cool and foggy, but if you go ten miles south of the airport, it can be sunny and 80 degrees. Yet, you drive back towards the airport, back into the fog.
