One thing I like to do, besides root for the Giants and post about this here, is follow guys who were either with the big league club, in the farm system, or both, once they leave the org. Based on WAR, the best former Giant pitcher is Dan Otero, with a 2.7 WAR. Next Joe Biagini, with a 0.8 WAR. Only starting pitchers with a positive WAR are Mike Leake (0.5) and Francisco Liriano (0.3). Jason Grilli and Heath Hembree posted better WAR (0.4) than Liriano. Ryan Vogelsong was exactly at 0.0.

As for hitters, the best, based on WAR, is Adam Duvall (3.2). He is followed by Melky Cabrera (2.6), Carlos Beltran (2.0), Matt Duffy (1.6, including time with SF), Norichika Aoki (1.5), Tommy Joseph (0.5), Jeff Francoeur (0.5), Rajai Davis (0.4), Charlie Culberson (0.4), Hector Sanchez (0.4) and Marlon Byrd (0.3).
