E*PN has some hilarious stuff in there this week.

The Canes are #2?!? The Oilers and the Leafs are apparently Top 10 teams now. The Rangers and Blues are better than the Caps. And the Penguins are ranked #27 and the Devils are #28 - they apparently won't even be close to the playoffs!

SO ridiculous. I realize it's based on record so far, and "power rankings" are generally pretty stupid, but is a little common sense not infused into these things?

Well it has to do with the first few games of the season so of course things are going to look pretty silly at the moment. Give it a little bit of time and it will look (for the most part) more accurate. It is pretty funny to see EDM, TO and Dallas in the top 10 though.

Who the yuck cares about power rankings.

The only thing they are remotely good for is evoking a response from fans of teams who think their team should be higher.

Other than that... pretty worthless.
