figuring out a way to lose to the Angels is pretty important. They are 7 of the games we have left.

Ibanez is primarily an infielder. He can play OF in a pinch. He played there once in his long minor league career and once so far up here. When they brought him up, Woody mentioned him playing 1B, 2B, and 3B. Willie is an OF. Therefore, to me, they are not interchangeable.

The Calhoun decision will be made primarily based on who else they have to play LF. The ultimate Ibanez decision will be based on who else they have to play those IF positions, or who else they have on the bench to play those positions if they determine he is a utility player.

I doubt either of them is starting here in 2024. In fact, they both may be traded by then.

I don’t think they’re interchangeable
Just making light of the situation since Ibanez did replace Calhoun in the lineup that very day he was pulled due to his injury.
