Jung was 0-13 in high-altitude Albuquerque before yesterday's outburst, hitting three consecutive doubles in front of a homer off an "uh oh" curve from Ashton Goudeau.

Steele Walker is hitting .417/.500/.667 during a ten-game hitting streak.

Frisco hit six homers in a game last week. Last night they settled for seven doubles (although JP Martinez did go deep for the fourth time). Sam Huff hit his first extra-base base in Frisco that wasn't a homer.

After Tai Tiedemann issued three consecutive two-out walks in the 8th, Chase Lee entered to strike out Kyle McCann and took care of the 9th with relative ease. Lee's side-armed fastball runs well, while the slider breaks hard the other way, and they look similar until they're near the plate. Lee has 18 strikeouts and one walk in 10.1 AA innings.

I know but it wouldn’t hurt to see if someone takes him. Either that or DFA him after the season and see if someone claims him

One of the biggest challenges of the rebuild will be to determine which players to trade and which to keep as we begin to see multiple options for the same position get closer to being ready. At some point we will face the decision of keeping a guy who has proven to be good to a certain degree or trade him and keep the guy with a higher potential. Making the right choices when thoes decisions come up may well be the difference between a WS championship or just becoming really good.

Ibanez' ability to play defense puts him ahead of Calhoun. Willie is nothing more than a DH, which is fine except he struggles to hit and has a bitch of a time staying healthy.

Ibanez is primarily an infielder. He can play OF in a pinch. He played there once in his long minor league career and once so far up here. When they brought him up, Woody mentioned him playing 1B, 2B, and 3B. Willie is an OF. Therefore, to me, they are not interchangeable.

The Calhoun decision will be made primarily based on who else they have to play LF. The ultimate Ibanez decision will be based on who else they have to play those IF positions, or who else they have on the bench to play those positions if they determine he is a utility player.

I doubt either of them is starting here in 2024. In fact, they both may be traded by then.

There are limited roster spots, but I don't see that coming into play in their situation. They fill out different spots on the roster.

If they were both considered nothing but DHs then at that point they would be in direct competition. That is far from being the case though.
