That's cute.

For the record, we aren't real fond of you guys, either.

I can only speak for me, but I hate your team, your city, and most of your fans at a molecular level.

I feel terrible for Africans, knowing they are starving while you people eat food.

Yes, I hate your kind.

Hey now...
Last time Philly was relevant to the world: 1800 when it was still capital
Last time Pitt was relevant to the world: 1970's when it was still making steel.
:)

C'mon, I know you wanna tap that :D

LOL, then we can agree to disagree. Excellent.

Perfect.

I LOL at this shirt.

1987? I guess Crosby was born in August, but it took 18 more years for his NHL debut.

I mean, 87 was a good year for Mario. Pretty sure the Pens didn't even make the playoffs though. Mario won the Canada Cup that year too, with Gretz I believe. 88-89 was better though. That's when he nearly broke 200. What a beast. Wow. I just googled to confirm those...he won the Art Ross/Hart/Pearson in 87-88 but only won the Art Ross in 88-89 even though he scored nearly 30 more points? I wasn't alive to know the reasoning, I guess I'll have to research more :confused2:

I think it refers to bandwagon since the Pens got #87, but I could be wrong. Personally, I miss the old Mario Lemiuex family section back in the dark days. Sure, I had to watch Rico Fata and Lasse Prjeta, but me and my kid got in for 38.00 combined. It was great.

FWIW, maybe you guys will get some bandwagon fans when you actually win something.

This year has been good for the Pens bandwagon, in that it's thinned the herd. I'm sure many of them will be back when Sid returns, but it's been nice knowing it's mostly educated people at the games. And wow. Lasse Prjeta *shudders* I was still fairly young when the horrid Pens were playing, but I know who my favorites were: Francis until he was finally traded (best friends with his daughter in pre-school *ROCKSTAR*), Ian Moran, Kasper, Kovy, Straka. Not a bad bunch there ;)

Ronnie was a class act and my favorite Pen ever. Straka was fun to watch, Kaspar was Matt Cooke before anyone cared about headshots. (Lindros anyone?) We were sooo bad in that 5 year or so period after those guys left.

Well with all the points you bring up Pix it could easily be that, yet it could also just be #87.

The point is that it gets the point across.

I loved the Straka-Lang-Kovy line. A lot. And I agree, Ronnie Franchise was probably the classiest guy to ever wear black and gold. I still have his autograph in my room. Heck, I was like 5 or 6 when I met him, but I knew he was alllll class. That and I've heard countless stories about people meeting him and just loving the guy. And on Kaspar...I'm not sure why young-me liked him so much, but I did. I guess I was a violent child :D

Yeah, I'm sure it meant Sid. Either way, it doesn't bother me much because I know that I'm not a bandwagoner. My only stipulation for people who want to join the fanbase now (or did a few years back) is this: educate yourself on the background of the team and the sport, or don't open your mouth...ever.

OT, I know, but why the heck would Gretz win the Hart when he scored 30 less than Mario and during the year that Mario got the Pens back into the playoffs for the first time in a long time? And with 2 less games. Hmmpf! I'm bitter and I wasn't even alive! :P

Oddly enough I started watching hockey in about 87...I remember being destroyed when they lost in the playoffs the next season in a sweep

Probably because Mario had Rob Brown and Dan Quinn:wink:

Denver makes both those look silly!

There are quite a few cities either on, or west of the Rocky Mountains that have some awesome skylines. San Fran, Seattle, and L.A. seen from the Getty museum (even with the smog) puts most east coast cities to shame.
