Flyers just blew up their whole team..

I think they got some pretty damn good pieces back to say the least, but weren't Richards and Carter supposed to be "the guys" on that team for the next decade?

Wow just simply wow! I don't get why they don't sign vokun for a year on the cheap if the team fails thrn blow it up.

I think the kings robbed them. Richards is better then carter is locked up long term at a cheap cap hit. Schenn is a good prospect but what if he doesn't live up at the nhl level? Simmons is an ok grinder.

I think they got the better end in the Columbus deal. They get voreck a 1st and 3rd? Then again carter locked up long term for the cheap.

So they are getting 3 high first round players the pick schenn and voreck. And a good Goalie in bryzgolov. How can you complain about that? I think they hit the panic button big time!

Richie is no b doubt a good player, But his problem is he disappears too often, not to sure about his leadership skills as a pro either, but we made out very well and I don't think it was panic at all. Our PP was horrendous last year with Carter and Richie, don't be surprised to see Gagne and possibly Brad Richards here next year also.

Brayden Schenn is supposedly the best prospect in the world ATM.

It's going to take schenn 2 years to reach Richards level that's even if he can reach it. Same goes for whoever they draft this year...they are two years away.



Heck they can bring in Richards and gagne that would help but who knows if they do...as of today Noway they are cup contenders

I don't know....if schenn and the pics pan out in 2-3 years then that's great

I don't really get the Richards trade but the Carter one was an absolute steal.

I get to see the flyers often and he really never found his place on the team. I know a lot of flyers fans that didn't like Carter either. Getting a young top 9 player in voracek and getting the #8 pick is huge (remember all the Murphy obsession? he will likely be available at 8). on top of that they get a 3rd rounder?

Who knows what happened with Richards but they were able to pick up a cheaper player who should have no problem fitting in with their very deep forwards crop as a 3rd line center. He should have never been their captain anyways. Pronger and Timonen were more qualified at the time and Briere would also have been a better choice.

I love the trades for Philly.. They just added some serious youth who can be had for cheap and gave up their 3rd and 4th best centers. To top it all off - they were able to pick up a good goalie. No more carousel of crap revolving around the Flyers net anymore.

Will probably hurt short term, but long term I think these are solid moves. Get rid of 2 locker room distractions (one an adulterer), clear cap space, sign a goalie that is far superior to anything they had in a long time, get picks, and some solid players. I personally think they were smart moves and will pay off in the end.
