I think we stand pat also with this team all we need to do is free up some money by letting bryz and briere go over the summer bring up laughton for briere and sign any goalie that could play like 20 games per year and get everyone healthy and go for the gold.

This is kind of going off of what awaz has said in the past and I tend to agree with him on this very topic of Bryzy and his buyout. Don't buyout Bryzy contract for signing a goalie just to play 20 games. This is basically giving Mason a no contest for next season's starting goaltender in a city that is known to get on goaltending if they struggle. The only reason to buyout Bryzy is via trade IMO( Bernier, Halak, etc). Other than that I wouldn't mind going cheaper at this position. And def get Briere off the books.

If anyone is trade bait at this time, I think it would be Read. I don't see any trades coming anytime soon. After reading Meltzer's article I see no way the Flyers trading a major part of their core for a blueliner. We will have to make due for what we have.

Read is awesome I sure hope he doesn't go. I think he could be a solid player for years to come.

i see absolutely no reason to move Read in the 2013/14 season unless they're out of playoff contention around deadline day. he can do everything well and only costs 900k against the cap (which the flyers are going to struggle with this year).

I agree w this... Unless this is somehow tied into a goaltender trade, which I guess is possible if the Flyers want to buyout Bryzy.

no kidding.. when was the last time the flyers were the one's that lost their cool and started gooning it up? they have a couple questionable characters over the past 5-10 seasons (downie, boulerice) but they got rid of them?

the habs were worse last night than the pens were last year, no doubt. love the timeout by ottawa with 16 seconds left just to rub it in. dick move, but a dick move that was well deserved. what a joke montreal was last night.

i moved a lot of the BS threads over there, at least for now.. just in case there were some pics in there that google wouldn't like.. this mumbles and grumbles thread was supposed to take its place anyway haha

we wanted to start a fresh thread after the tox/sly/SF fallout to see if anyone else would chime in after they were gone.. in case people felt like that was a 'clique' they weren't a part of
