How much money did UCF offer to have UF play at their place?I don't think you know how college football works. The home team agrees to pay the visitor a set amount of money to play in their stadium. If the price is right, it shouldn't matter whether you have a 50k stadium or a 10k stadium.
UTEP has paid Oklahoma to play in the Sun Bowl before. The difference is that UTEP has no chance of winning against a P5 school.
And they refuse to take the shot. They are just as likely to hurt the SoS as they are to help it. It wasn’t that long ago UCF was 0-12. They have been playing football since the 60’s and only have 255 wins in the history of the program.Call it whatever you want. The bottom line is that they deserve a shot.

Going out and crying about how no one will play you is not a good negotiating tactic when teams are willing to play them, it makes the other team say forget it and walk away. See Nebraska and Boise State. They aren't refusing to take a shot. They are simply negotiating. You'll see, they will come to a deal. Being recently 0-12 has nothing to do with it.
UCF has been offered, and its been covered. They want home and home and they wont get it. P5 schools already play a full conference slate and usually 1, some do 2, respectable OOC opponents and 2 or 3 cupcakes. There is zero impetus to put them on the schedule, because P5 resumes, should they win that schedule, are sufficient for the postseason. They dont need UCF at all.
Losing millions of dollars to play a team that gives them nothing isn’t exactly fair. No will care if you beat them, just like no one cares if you beat Boise State. UCF doesn’t have the sack to actually play anyone so they fake that no one is offering them games. They are being offered fair market value for a mid-major. They just want to pretend they are actually somebody.I agree 100% with what you said. P5 schools do not need to play UCF. I'm simply pointing out that one cannot argue that UCF doesn't play a tough schedule when no one will play them in a fair home and home scenario.
The same thing used to happen to UTEP in men's basketball.
Kentucky refused to play us in a home and home back in 2016 to commemorate the 1966 national championship.

Yeah, youre just not going to get Kentucky basketball in a home and home ever. Y'all are more than welcome to come to Rupp. P5 schools arent going to give up the ticket revenue from what would otherwise be a home game and a win to go on the road and not make that money. Is the risk of a loss higher, well sure, but more to the point, we hold the cards and it makes zero financial sense. Our basketball operating budget is probably more than UTEP's entire athletics budget. Gotta make sure all profitable avenues are protected to cover those costs. One way to do that is to not schedule needless road games against opponents where it is a lose/lose proposition. We get nothing out of such a game...nothing.I agree 100% with what you said. What they’re doing is making totally unreasonable demands. It would be like claiming you’re too good to date any woman who isn’t as hot as a model or a movie star.....then complaining that you can’t get any dates.
P5 are offering them a fair price for a G5 school. They think they are better than that because they have been decent for two seasons. They aren't losing millions. UCF is offering to pay them a fair price to play at UCF. P5 schools just won't do it unless they get a two for one. It's not fair.
Baloney. Of course we can say that. They need to toughen up their schedule if they want national respect. If that means they have to do what up and coming programs have always done - ie go on the road without necessarily getting return dates - that’s the way it is.
By the way, did you know UF played @ Georgia, @ Georgia Tech, @Alabama, @Tennessee and @Auburn more than those teams have played at UF? Why do you think UF agreed to such one sided deals back in the teens and 20’s. They were in a similar boat to what ucf is in now. It’s called paying your dues. ucf just wants to whine and get free handouts instead of earning it.
@7Samurai13UCF is 1 of 6 who beat a 10+ win team this year. That is beating an elite team.

That's where you're wrong. You absolutely can argue they don't play a tough schedule if they don't play a tough schedule. Fairness is for fucking communists.
If they want to be treated like a big boy, they need to quit wearing pull-ups and shit in the toilet like everyone else. Aren't in a P5 conference and don't play 8-9 P5 teams in your conference schedule? Tough titties, better figure out a way to schedule 2-3 in your OOC. It is up to nobody else to grant UCF some charity games, if they want to be considered for the playoffs, I would suggest they adopt the anywhere anytime motto. Most don't give a rats ass if UCF ever makes the playoffs, if they want to make the playoffs they need to not give anyone an excuse to keep them out. Is there anybody in the playoffs that didn't have to go play 2-3 good or better P5's on the road? Then why the fuck is UCF special?
