Unlikely Series' Heroes!

Who ya got? Make a prediction (you pussies, RIP Bossman).

I'll go with Jakub Vrana having 3 goals and an important game winner in the series. He had a good stretch with lots of scoring chances in mid- to late-March, but couldn't get a little lucky to put more in the cage. Law of due!
Tom Wilson.

Because that's who everyone was talking about during the Caps' last first round series.

How about John Druce for the Caps?!?

/He's an unlikely series hero, am I right?

Wow, that takes big balls, Dash. ;) Bossman would be proud.

And I will always remember that SI article on him....

My unlikely series hero is Brandon "God Damned Hero" Dubinsky.

He's had a terrible season, lost his major situational spots to Letestu and Wennberg and may be looking to get back in the Coaches' good graces. He did show up big a few years back.

"Unlikely" because he sucks.

It was a toss-up between Druce and Bobby Carpenter, eloco, but I had to go with Druce.

Got to. 14 goals in 15 games. He'd only have 3 goals in 37 playoff games the rest of his career.

This is why Gersich should be in the lineup. Its like that famous Gretzky saying...

You can't score on 100% of the shifts you're not on the ice for.

I'm gonna go with either David Clarkson or Nathan Horton. They are still Blue Jackets right???

I'll take Seth Jones to win a game or two in OT.

/CBJ in 7

David Clarkson is currently the heart and soul of the Las Vegas Golden Knights. Leadership, Intangibles, Helmets that don't fit.

The capitals are in the difficult position of being favored against a team that is every bit as good as them and doesn't have the playoff "experience" they do (which in this case is a good thing).

The main advantage the caps have over the jackets is in the special teams game, but that's exactly the part of the game that matters the least this time of year the way these things are called. There are a number of teams with worse records than the caps that play even-strength hockey just as well as the caps and CBJ is one of them.

Otherwise I think the jackets should take care of business and I like what they are building there. Unless Bobrovksy has some sort of playoff meltdown or Grubauer is the magical solution the caps have been looking for all these years, I sort of suspect the jackets win this series in 6 or 7 games. But I expect a very fun series to watch and I wish the jackets the best of luck.

not sure CBJ will win series, but Cam Atkinson will waterbug his way into your hearts.
and Lars Eller will "accidentally" hurt someone. Y'all will be looking for Tom Wilson, but it will be Eller.

Milbury just picked the Jackets to go to the Finals.

Congrats Caps fans on your impending sweep with 4 straight shutouts.
