I dont blame harvin for refusimg to run bubble screens and jet sweeps, they are horseshit highschool plays. I dont believe for one second that carroll is holding a gun to bevells head and forcing him to call those plays.

Maybe carroll determines the philosophy of our offense, but he isnt putting together the offensive strategy or calling the plays. Those are bevells reaponsibility and he is horrible at both.

It doesnt seem that there is ever a game plan tailored to what our opponent brings, its always the same game plan with a few gimmicks. Matthews in the superbowl was a gimmickm once they adjusted to it our offense stalled like it always does under bevell.
Actually, Harvin refused to run crossing routes or catch balls in areas where he could take a hit. Given that Wilson doesn't really do well at seam routes it kind of left having to be creative to get Harvin the ball in space in a way that was acceptable to him.

Doesn't do well at seam routes? He threw 5 TD's last year on seam routes and 5 TD's on slant/drive/drag routes. That's the problem. We don't run seam to get the defense to back off a little bit. It seems like every time we decide to throw one things start opening up. Whoever thinks that having him run an offense based on the out route or the scramble drill doesn't know what the fuck he's doing.

A QB that can't throw a seam route isn't worth 20 million dollars, and Wilson isn't that QB. Let him use the middle of the field.

5 times in 19 games. Impressive!

It's not his bread and butter. He doesn't throw it enough to be comfortable with guys covered in step but has inside leverage, more or less throw it to Graham and let him get open.

How many timing routes does Wilson attempt per year? You know, the kinds where the receiver hasn't even broken before he throws the ball? Those are the kinds of throws Brees has lived off of for years. Graham is now in an entirely different offense with a QB that has a completely different skill set and comfort zone. So far Graham hasn't shown even the interest in adapting. He gives up on routes early, stands around when Wilson is scrambling, doesn't sell the deep part of any route and looks surprised when the defender is right on him after his 'break'. It's pathetic.

So why wasnt bevell able to translate that with willdon, lynch, and harvin?

Should we be calling for carrols head instead?

If we are supposed to be a run first offense why trade a probowl c for a wr/te with no blocking skills? Why spend almost nothing on OL? Why pay a qb $22m a year? It makes no sense.

If you are going to build a roster to be a run first then why make those moves? And better yet, why not run on the last play of the sb?
Don't put me in that group. In Pete I trust. He has earned that.

He threw more TD's on the seam route than he did any other route. He throws a fine seam route. It's one of his stonger throws because he has a strong, accurate arm. And as far as timing routes, we don't run them because they're just too darn dangerous! Here's your 20 million dollars! Now go out and manage the game for us! No timing throws, no throwing guys open, nothing over the middle.

You don't pay a guy 20 mill to just avoid turning the ball over. It's nonsense.
