He is fantastic. I am glad he got picked to finish Wheel of Time, It led me to a lot of great books.
Same here.

I need to find something else by Jim Butcher to read. I like his stuff. I have been considering Codex Alera.
same here on Cinder SpiresI prefer it to Dresden. Codex Alera is one of my favorite series out there.
Cinder Spires was a disappointment to me though, I am hoping I will like book 2 more.
I read Steelheart, but haven't gone out and read Firefight yet. I plan to though.
The series stays good. Firefight and Calamity both keep up the same pace
I read the first 3-4 books of WOT and got bored. I tried to pick it up again and couldn't' To follow it I would have to start back at he beginning. He is fantastic. I am glad he got picked to finish Wheel of Time, It led me to a lot of great books.
I really like his legion series. It was planned for a tv series at some point, but now would need to be renamed for that to be true.

His characters are some of the most interesting I've encountered in the genre to be honest. I don't pay much attention to his magic systems because that's usually the thing that annoys me with fantasy (I'd rather it not exist) but his characters and in general, the concepts/plots he employs are just original and well thought out.Respectfully disagree. He's good at building magic systems, but his characters... meh.
Huh, maybe he's gotten a LOT better?
I gave up somewhere partway through the throwing metals/coins dealio....
I don't know. The characters and story in the Final Empire really stuck for me. I dug that (as well as the story and fantastic conclusion) way more than I'm digging the Wax and Wayne thing (although that's still very good).Like page 2 of the first mistborn book?
His characters are better in the second series for Mistborn, and his work with Stormlight is his best work so far IMO.

Stormlight is brilliant top to bottom.
Huh. Kelsier is one of my favorite fantasy characters of all time. He's up there with the Tyrion and Roland for me. Vin didn't bother me at all. Eland I can agree. Dude was a pussy.I did not care for Vin, Kelsier, or Eland from final empire, and that was 95% of the POV. Wayne cracks me up, I wish he got more chapters in the second series.

I'm a big fan of the anti-hero thing I guess. The fact that he was a merciless killer bent on revenge at all costs entertained me.He was needed for the story, but I did not really care for him.
