Hopkins is due for $32 mil over the next 2 years. Any team that claims him is saddled with that, isnt that correct? Wonder if he clears waivers.

that is not correct from what I've been reading, ARZ going to eat all the dead cap this year to get him off the books for 2024, he's free to sign/negotiate a new deal with any team

Looks to me as the Cards eat 21 million and if he clears waivers a new contract would come into effect.

If the Chiefs want him and he wants to win, I don't see any reason he doesn't go there and play for less money. That move would certainly make the most sense, so that probably means it won't happen.
Perfect fit, they need a real WR, he needs to play with a real QB, and he can very realistically chase a ring.
So yep, he probably ends up in Atlanta, or something dumb

Sounds like the Chiefs are a serious possible landing spot for Hopkins.

Profootballtalk's Mike Florio reports Jimmy Garoppolo can be released without penalty by the Raiders this summer because of his 2022 foot injury.

Garoppolo's deal originally included an $11.25 million signing bonus, but that was converted to part of his base salary after he failed his Raiders physical this spring. Garoppolo can be cut for "any reason" related to his foot, but his $22.5 million salary becomes guaranteed once he "passes a physical exam, is active for at least one regular-season game, and does not suffer re-injury to his left foot." It would certainly seem Garoppolo's physical was most disturbing to the Silver and Black. What was already looking like a questionable signing now has the makings of a potential fiasco.

"He can't run anymore."?

Wow, harsh evaluation. Coachspeak? A negotiation ploy? Truth?

Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer writes interest in DeAndre Hopkins is "very tepid from teams" and that he may have to choose between "tak[ing] the bag" and "chase a ring."

Per Breer's reporting, the Chiefs and Bills don't want to pay Hopkins' current asking price and the sense is that Odell Beckham's contract earlier this offseason drove Hopkins' market into a range where neither felt comfortable executing a trade. Hopkins may have to choose between a one-year, mid-range deal in a JuJu Smith-Schuster sort of way or making real money for a team that doesn't have one of the preferred quarterbacks on his list. Breer surveyed evaluators and found a divide on what Hopkins had left, with one anonymous executive saying "He can't run anymore."

Cooks and Gallup together make for a good third receiver.
Cooks will surprise this year. Gallup's giddyup is pretty much done.

'Since it happens in other major sports leagues, fans of the National Football League may wonder whether or not an NFL player could own a team in the league.

No, NFL players cannot own a team because the league’s constitution forbids owners from playing on the field.

So, an NFL player having interest in becoming an owner or co-owner would first have to retire.'

or in Brady's case, sell his minority interest.

Not that that couldn't happen, but he would have to get out of the owners box before un-retiring, and taking snaps in Vegas

I have a hard time believing he's giving up more part ownership in a team and more money from Fox than he made in his entire career to come back to a team that has no hope of winning a Super Bowl this year (sorry Treff).
