Yikes.

Who is his backup, again?

Hassan Haskins or Dontrell Hillard, won't want to have to count on either being much help if Henry goes down. However barring a injury Henry should still be king.
Jordan Wlkins signed on too. Haskins is definitely a power back, but he's not a power back like Henry is.

Henry goes down, I think it just becomes a committee backfield.

I'd wager it'll be split between Hilliard and Haskins, but until we see the rookie on passing downs, assume Hilliard sees the more valuable role as of now.

Cannon and Wilkins are just practice squad bodies, imo

My somewhat facetious comment was that all that dancing could be a "yikes". ;)

Don't let the homer glasses fool you. It's not too late to jump on the Najee train gents...
  • Steelers invested $70m into the OL this offseason.
  • Ben is gone. Offense will be centered around Najee while the new system has growing pains.
  • Tomlin loves to ride the bell cow (350-400 touches)

well, he either becomes the next Derrick Henry, or has persistent muscle pulls/tears and is the new David Boston of the RB world.

Basically, is his frame built to build that mass, or did he go too far? 14lbs of muscle mass in one offseason is a lot

I believe in him but the Steelers OL is still less than average imo. They were pretty good at pass blocking but overall not very good.
Overpaid for Cole who has struggled with pass blocking.
Moore wasn't very good and gave up a lot of sacks.

Doesn't mean he can't produce at a high level bc of his versatility, if they can be average...Najee can produce at a high level.

A lot of risk to do it all in one offseason especially if you are used to playing at a certain weight.

I'll believe that the offensive line is better when I see it actually perform. I think he's due for a regression this year. Between the receiving numbers that will be hard to replicate and the chance that the Steelers realize they aren't going to win shit this year so maybe they don't leave him on the field for 90% of the snaps or whatever ridiculous number that was last year I think there's a chance he doesn't finish as a RB1 this year. The best thing that could happen for him is for Pickett to win the starting job because if it's Trubisky he's going to eat into both his rushing and receiving numbers because where Big Ben's initial reaction when he was pressured was to dump it off to Najee, Trubisky's first reaction is going to be to take off running himself.

Yea I’m not entirely sold on the OL yet. But I love how they focused on rebuilding the interior. James Daniels & Kevin Dotson bring that nastiness they’ve been missing since Pouncey fell off. Definitely overpaid for Cole, but if he is just marginally better than Kendrick Green was last year then that’s a pretty big improvement to the OL in my book lol. Definitely agree that if the unit as a whole can even be middle of the pack then Najee is going to feast

Definitely risky… But I believe there is a lot more to like this year about Najee. My biggest fear is OC Matt Canada and his collegiate style offense. If he tries to play Mickey Mouse football then it’s going to be an ugly year.

Obviously the "edge" guys are awaiting our commentary on Will Fuller before posting any analysis
Yeah surprisingly but I think they like their young guys, Bell, DPJ and Schwartz. Idk I always thought Fuller could be signed for a nice incentive based deal. You can never have enough WR’s

Other than a straight up money grab, Fuller should only be concerned about two teams, GB, and KC, and not many more teams should be thinking about signing him either. I could understand Baltimore or Tennessee, they have somewhat of a need, but the fit just seems weird. Some mention Dallas..which is just dumb, no need there. Saw Chicago mentioned as a possibility, now that one would simply be Fuller just selling out, and a disaster fantasy wise.

Never really saw Cleveland as a strong possibility. The Watson- Fuller reunion was the only part that made any sense.

I have a feeling he's just biding time, waiting for someone to get more desperate. I refuse to buy that Zay Jones, DJ Chark and Cedric Wilson had such amazing markets to score their oversized deals, and that Will Fuller has no market. No way he doesn't have multiple offers on the table from someone.
