Can't see TB dealing a draft pick for Forte..rookie QB, second year WR, that pick should be used on the line or maybe defensively.

If he gets dealt, and I doubt he does, but if, it'll be too a "win now" team, someone that is a virtual lock for the playoffs
Denver.

Wonder if anyone Goes after Forte i think the Bucs would be a good option for him reunite with Lovie and having a vet RB like him around could help Jameis a lot kinda like how Marshall Faulk helped Manning and Warner early in their careers.

I know there's a report out there that the GM is looking to trade players for picks. It mentions Forte and Jeffery. I can see them possibly moving Forte, but only to a contending team that could use him. So who knows if anyone bites on that?

As for Jeffery, it would be stupid to move him since he's making the rookie minimum, and he can be "franchised" next season.

Little known fact about Forte: he doesn't pass-protect. And he won't.

Their line doesnt pass protect. Do you think they are worried about a RB that doesnt?

Not to mention that at least he can break tackles. ;)

Listening to the local jackwangs on the Denver ESPN affiliate at lunch today. .they talked about Forte maybe being traded (as well as an open call in about who the starting RB should be. .most said Hillman, but anyways). What the prevailing thoughts were, was that Forte wouldn't be a great fit, and that John Fox will never deal with Elway to begin with

Didn't think Fox would be involved anyway. The GM Pace would be the negotiator with Elway.
Forte to Denver is an interesting scenario. I know the Bears are looking for draft picks, so I wonder if that means the Bears would give Montee Ball a call?

That's true too...no idea if Foxy has any say so in personal or not. And considering it'd be for a draft pick, not necessarily a player, I'd assume his opinion isn't really relevant anyways. Don't think Denver would be able to fit Forte under the cap though, no idea how that part even works. .but I know they're up against it after signing Mathis...they were up against it before that signing.

Thinking out loud...

was looking to get some insurance at RB... so I was wondering if:
@Chef99 would be interested in parting with Karlos? What would I have to give up? I only want him to backup McCoy... would you rather have McCoy?
@tlance with Ben out of commission, would you be interested in Peyton in the interim? I have my eye on Ivory. What about Manning and Dion Lewis for Ivory? Too much? Too little?
I'm really out of my element when it comes to trades.

It's kind of a sticky situation, Joe...running backs are makin' me dizzy. If you have any ideas, let me know. If you don't want to make an official offer, pm me.

Is that because he gave up on it or is it a scheme thing prior to Trestmans arrival he was top 10(even 3rd one year) every year in PFF's RB pass protection grades. The year Trestman arrived he came in dead last 55th or something crazy like that i figured they were just using him as a dump off guy rather than having him stay in to block i don't really watch the Bears much so i don't really know though. By helping a young QB i was more referring to having a veteran guy in the backfield that could help recognize opposing defensive schemes more than pass blocking anyways.I don't think Faulk was all that great at pass protection schemes either, but he was very knowledgeable.

As far a Forte wanting to go to a contender at this point in his career he should just go to the team that is willing to give him the most guaranteed money.

Offer sent.
Kept it simple.

To be honest, I never noticed it myself. And I don't know the reasons or when it started. But our local ESPN radio guys were talking about it. I would imagine that "not blocking" has to hurt his trade value. Not to mention it will probably alienate part of the fanbase.

Joe,

Let me think about that. Not too little, just unsure about fit. Could we revisit that tomorrow? I am a little worried that Peyton has a week 7 bye.

Wrote a mini-novel in my response... sorry.

Just realized too that I meant to put this on our MBBRL thread.

Haha it's ok, I enjoy novels. And it was a fair offer. Maybe I need to think about it a bit more.

And I was also going to mention that second part. ;)
