NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports Brandon Aiyuk has requested a trade from the 49ers.

Best of luck to you I guess. Hope you don't end up in some hellhole with a shit QB that destroys your value as an UDFA next year

Be interesting to see what kind of value teams are willing to offer for a player that wants a big contract. Aiyuk has looked fine but don't think he's viewed as elite (except by himself) around the NFL. Could be the 49ers decide keeping him then letting him walk for a end of 3rd round comp is the best course for them.

1st round pick with a high ceiling that's been held back because the offense is good no matter who they use. The YPC points to more production with a bigger work load.

Going to a shit team that has to pass more would be great for his numbers and his earning potential.

pearsall for prez??
I can't see why, I mean he's supposedly good, but not exactly a projected to be anything great. I guess he was a first rounder, barely. But I sure didn't see anything to get extremely excited about. Honestly, after the big 3 WR's, this class had a massive jumble of about 10-12 'meh' prospects. All of them could just as easily be busts as they could be marginal starters as they could be stars, Pearsall right there with them.

I'd bump Deebo, Kittle and Cmac one notch each before I really thought much extra for Pearsall. I just don't see a team with realistic super bowl aspirations suddenly turning to a rookie any more than they slightly increase the script to those guys and Jennings.

Pearsall gets a bump in rookie drafts I guess, if you still have one of those upcoming, but I'm not expecting anything great- certainly not a 'for prez' type season.

Who knows, maybe part of the compensation package is a serviceable WR which throws a whole new twist in the mix.

That post was tongue in cheek. You know how everyone just likes to jump on the next guy.

I highly doubt aiyuk gets traded. In fact I will be shocked if he does.

I could see him as a stash type as Kittle and Deebo likely aren't on the 49ers after 2025, but stashes aren't all that valuable although at times a person becomes convinced that this player or that player will become gold.

Think a 3rd of the league has GMs with less than 3 years on the job. Perhaps some in precarious win-or-else situations. An Aiyuk deal seems like a way to help the GM.

GM Poles is all about "character." Its why he likes Eberflus. Why he got rid of Roquon.

A player demanding a trade (from the Super Bowl runner-up) would be a character concern for Poles.

If it gets to the point that Lynch allows him to seek a trade partner, sure. I’d assume there is solid market for him.

And the return would be better than a comp pick. Also assume it would be something they could utilize in 2024.

There really isn’t an offense in the league he wouldn’t help. (Maybe not the Bears or Dolphins idk)

no doubt that he helps whoever he goes to... but the 49ers aint getting fair market value for him right now...

and a team in SB or bust mode can't afford a major downgrade that this will be... and post draft is harder to negotiate...

And we already have 3 WRs who are probably even better. Same with the Texans.

Not sure what fair market value would be. But I think they can get more than a third for him. (What they’ll get for him if they don’t move him) Now, during camp or even early in the season when some team loses a huge piece for the year.

They’re a loaded team, with an open window for winning now. So I’d assume he’d only be dealt for things that help now.

that's the point... if they are a SB or bust team, then they aint going to downgrade their team... what exactly is their holes?? they would probably need a WR replacement... which would mean its basically a lateral trade...

who has a similar WR, but would be willing to upgrade to Aiyuk but then pay him more?? if buffalo had anyone then I could see them doing it... same with KC...

They do have a first round 4th receiver right now.

I don’t see a receiver swap being what would happen if they moved him. But maybe plugging another hole that is created by someone getting hurt.

I just meant because from a fantasy standpoint those are the two most crowded wide receiver rooms and would be the most annoying if they went there. I don't care about the real world NFL aspect. This is why I added the LOL at the end, because you know it was a joke. But since I'm having to explain it now, then clearly it was a terrible one.

I knew it was a joke.
I was merely using the opportunity to show that this does not reflect well on Aiyuk.

He plays for one of the better coaches in the NFL. Plays on a playoff caliber team. And his main concern is "pay me or trade me."

does anyone here really think he will be traded??
Even in the Milkian fantasy world, anything is possible. Camp injuries. Favorable trade scenarios.

IMO he is pulling a Maurice Clarett. One pretty good season and he wants a team to push in all the chips on him.
