And the Vikings got a grand total of one more playoff win than the Skins since.
You are talking about two terrible organizations. 2 of the worst. Silly way to evaluate the dregs of the league.

You are basically saying they should fold the franchise instead of keeping their good quarterbacks since they can't win either way.

Watson DID deserve it. And I'd say he deserved it more than Cousins ever has.
You mention some good history and what Watson did in Houston. But it does make you wonder, Houston wasnt the team that rewarded him with a ridiculous contract.

Kudos to Houston imo. Houston did what other teams are afraid to do - move on.

As for Cousins. I like the guy and think he's underrated.

He's had a very good to great career, no doubts. And yeah, Many, myself included, probably don't give him the credit he deserves, and yet, there's just something missing where he'll never be mentioned in the same breath as any of his contemporaries who are considered 'greats', and, at least I feel, rightfully so.

As to Watson, obviously they were aware of some of his personality issues, thus the trade to Cleveland. Yes kudos to them, but what were they gonna say when the Brown offered what they did, knowing that Watson was gonna be suspended, knowing his personal demons?

It's like throwing a guy in the block in dynasty who you're probably gonna cut anyways and are hoping anyone will offer you a table scrap for, and getting offered 3 #1 picks for him, you can't say yes fast enough.

I suppose there is a lot of truth to that.

i guess from my point of view, seems like too many QB with a laundry list of things that they need to improve on - professionally or personally - still find a way to be RETAINED on teams that should probably have moved on from them. Instead they get paid. Cousins is like none of those type of QB. In the mold of Matty Ice or Stafford.

Wasn't Houston supplying the massage therapists at one point in all this shenanigans?

I do believe there is/was circumstantial evidence to suggest that, yes.

Maybe not the Texans, as an entity, but someone within/connected to, the organization was helping facilitate in some capacity

It was historically bad wether they own that record or not, and I think your right, they do.

But, yea, that's what you get when you play Bailey Zappe, and confirm that Bill OBrien truly has zero left to contribute to the coaching profession..it was crap.

Stevenson was the lone peanut in that crap
OOOOOOO that dam name again

Not unless forced to do so, no. Or like Bill Wirtz, death.. he has no kids (that are known). Then perhaps us Raiders fans will get that same lovely decade or so that the Broncos fans just went through, with no owner, and watch the franchise really slip into the abyss
Or maybe they read this board and pass the squad to our fave Treff...

Well hey, I wanna new deal too! My current lifetime contract sucks! ;)

Speaking with KPRC 2’s Aaron Wilson, Tyreek Hill said, “I’m also looking for a new deal,” when asked about the recent contracts signed by other receivers this offseason.

Hill is currently under contract through 2026 and said last spring he may retire once his current deal expires. Whether or not that comes to fruition is to be determined, but regardless, Hill could still work out a new deal with the Dolphins if the team is interested in getting something done. Hill caught 119 passes for 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns last season, leading the league in receiving yards. The recent new contracts signed by Justin Jefferson, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Jaylen Waddle have increased the market for receivers, leaving more money to be had for the league’s top stars. Hill is undoubtedly deserving of a new contract, but with the bill also coming due for Tua Tagovailoa, it’s possible the veteran receiver will have to wait until Tagovailoa’s deal gets figured out.

His has to keep playing to pay his child support.

I'll never get it (i do get it but) you singed a deal now honour your deal
when the deal ends then ask for more...
I get 'em doing this with one year left. I have no problems with the players looking for security beyond one year, especially in the NFL where the average career is so short. And i have no issues with that. Often times, those extensions are just that, extensions, they usually include the year already agreed to, under the same financial terms- obviously not always, but often.

But yeah, when dudes have 2, 3 years left and want to renegotiate? naw, that ain't right.
In only the extreme cases of far exceeding the value of a rookie deal in year 1 or 2, or maybe a low level free agent deal where the dude blossoms into an All -Pro or something.

Friggin Reek has 3 years left, and when signed, was the highest paid WR in the league. The sheer horror of now only being the 4th highest paid..I can't fathom the shame he must be feeling.

The real reason Reek wants a new deal? Cuz at the end of this year, not only will he be 31, but the 'Phins have an out, where they cut him a big ol check for the remainder of his guaranteed money in the deal, and they can save about $67M over the next two seasons. Reek ain't getting a new deal with someone else that'll pay him $30+M a year, not at 31.

R.I.P.

The Oregonian reports Vikings rookie DB Khyree Jackson was killed in a car accident on Saturday.

This tragic news was confirmed by Jackson’s agent and former high school coach. Jackson was a fourth-round pick of the Vikings in this year’s draft and went from JUCO to Alabama and eventually Oregon, where he had a breakout campaign in 2023. At one point, Jackson had all but given up on football before enrolling at Fort Scott Community College in 2019 and later moving on to East Mississippi Community College. Jackson, 24, totaled 34 tackles and three interceptions in his lone year at Oregon and was named First-team All-Pac-12 for his efforts. His unconventional path to the draft made him an exciting and inspirational prospect to watch this offseason. Our thoughts are with his loved ones.

NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports Brandon Aiyuk has requested a trade from the 49ers.

Best of luck to you I guess. Hope you don't end up in some hellhole with a shit QB that destroys your value as an UDFA next year
