I don't think this study has enough of a base to actually question complete loyalty, thus making it inaccurate. But the study is interesting, and their formula could definitely be used as one of the criteria for formulating a more thorough study...

Measuring attendance at a game is a very flawed way to gauge fan loyalty for two reasons. Games are ridiculously expensive to the point that it would cost a family of 4 about 500 dollars to attend one game. In contrast you could easily take a weekend/week trip for around the same price.

The experience at home has become so much better with the advent of HDTV and with the increased interest in fantasy football that I personally would rather stay at home than go to a pro game
