oh hes making less than i thought, if he can get 5 sacks against dallas ill chill out.
I laughed.

You know who's not making less than you, me or anyone else thought. A lotta jack tied up in 2 players who play the same position I'd opine.

Gotta call boo boo kitty on this as well. At least as far as the "adjustment" of moving Payne to DE being some hellified thing. Why is that? Because Robinson had all of 3 carries in the 2nd half. 1 carry on each of the first 3 possessions of the four toal 2nd half possessions by the Falcons.

In total the Falcons ran the ball 5 times in the 2nd half. Robinson had 3 carries for 8 yards, Penix had a scramble for 3 yards and Rae Rae had 1 carry for 14 yards. The adjustment that worked in the 2nd half was the Skins offense's domination of time of possesssion in the 2nd half n OT.
Falcons maybe gave up on the run game due to the Payne adjustment

I respect Allen but he's underperformed, I'll be happy to clear that cap space , actually i think we can get a 3rd for him

Falcons maybe gave up on the run game due to the Payne adjustment

The adjustment was the Skins offense had the ball for almost 21 minutes in the 2nd half.

On their first 2nd half possession The Falcons gained 1 yard on a run by Robinson, (Payne n Armstrong combined for the tackle) 4 yards on 2nd down on a pass from Penix to London and lost 8 yards on 3rd down courtesy of a strip/sack by Fowler. 4th dn punt TOP 2min 7sec

On their second 2nd half possession the Falcon gained 6 yards on 1st dn on a Penix to Woerner pass. 2 yards on a Robinson run (Allen credited with a solo tackle) and n 13 yards on 3rd n 2 on a Penix to McCloud pass for a 1st dn. Their next 2 downs were incompletions by Penix and on 3rd dn they lost 7 yards on a strip/sack by Armstrong. 4th dn punt. TOP 3min 1sec

On their 3rd possession in the 2nd half. They went 68 yards in 12 plays. Starting the drive with a 5 yd run by Robinson tackled by Sainristil. Penix had a 3 yard run on a scramble n on 1st dn from the Skins 19 yd ln. Rae enixRae had a 14 yard run setting up a 1st n goal from the Skins 5 yd ln. Next play was the direct snap fumble to Robinson, recovered by Robinson at the Skins 24 yd ln, tackled by Holmes at the Skins 26 yd ln crediting Robinson with a 2 yd loss. The remaining 8 plays were all passes. TOP 3min 13sec

Falcons 4th possession they picked up 40 yatds on 4 plays. A 25 yard comp Penix to Mooney, 2 incompletions by Penix, 2 penalties by the Skins, Payne had a 5 yd penalty for an nuetral zone infraction n a PI on Davis for 13 yards. The Falcons 4th play was the missed kick. TOP 40 seconds,

That's a tptal of 9 min 1 sec of Falcons possession in thee 2nd half.

If people wanna credit that to Payne being switched to DE in the 2nd half. Well, lets just say I'd find that humorously incorrect. They may as well give Payne credit for the Falcons Off never seeing the field in OT via Vulcan mind control and the Skins using 7 min 18 sec of the OT period..

I think it was @Sportster 72 who opined that the Falcons should've ran the ball more with Robinson in the 2nd half and while I wouldn't disagree. They really didn't have the ball long enough. Maybe that more than anything is why Collingsworth didn't make mention of the moving of Payne to DE. The strip/sacks by Fowler n Armstrong were pretty big though.

And my bad. I saisd Robinson only had 3 carries for 8 yards in the 2nd half. I didn't factor in the -2 yard run on the directr snap fumble that wasn't his fault. Make it 4 carries for 6 yards and six 2nd half running plays for the Falcons in total.

I have no idea why players, particularly defensive backs and OLs, are not trained better not to grab the jersey. I get that it's the heat of the battle thing but they should know by now that if they grab the jersey they will most likely get a penalty, if they just stayed with the receiver and let go as soon as they felt the jersey there's less of a chance of a completion than there is a penalty if they grabbed the jersy and didn't let go.

Hey Sty listen to #7. Ha! Nice post kbso, this guy was on target.
Ok, I listened to the whole thing and as I've been trying to tell you... you're looking at this in a one-sided way. Now, you're right if they take the proper time outs and either get closer for the FG or score a touchdown, but what if Atlanta's and Penix' inexperience in such a big game shows up in the form of sacks, or turnovers, especially one that ends in a score for Washington?
Did you miss the part where he actually agrees with me on the bigger mistake that the Falcons made? It was #9... not playing Penix sooner.

Go ahead and say it. Armstrong has been a bust. He benefitted from having talent around him but he can't thrive in a position where he needs to elevate others. Our winning record has spared him being called out. Im happy with what we got out of Ferrell.

We've got a lot to address next year.
WR, RT, EDGE, TE, CB, DB, K and figuring out what happens with Johnathan Allen.

I know we need to re sign some guys and can't address all those needs next year but RB is also a need now as well
I agree with everything except RT. Coleman is a more natural RT, the hole is at LT.

Yes, that falls on Morris not playing #9 earlier. You cant go into a playoff game playing scared on that last drive for ATL. Morris knew his kicker cant kick over 50 yards, you have to press it. If you had doubt about #9 then he shouldnt be out there.

Things aren’t always cut and dried . KC has earned a chance to through a slump , and his coach gave him the chance . BB’s last few years as a coach weren’t good and he picked the players

Yes, i agree with that correction.
Coleman has been MORE than serviceable at LT, however, Wylie has been AWFUL at RT since he got here. Coleman might be an even better LG making it 2 OT's we need.
