Seriously though, I was just sharing an opinion of what I would do were I the Mariners GM based on the overall odds of a deep playoff run, and a bunch of you guys, laying right down into the reputation of pacific NW sports fans, started cunting it up about “but the Indians suck!”

I don’t give a shit if the Indians get respect from other fan bases or not. I made a general point that the M’s had a long shot to a championship based on the fact that they’d have to face three teams that have been better than them, just to make the World Series.

It’s a reasonable take, hence most places giving the M’s a 1% chance of winning the WS.

This all started when I said I wouldn’t mortgage the M’s future on a marginally better shot this year.

In 2000 when we won 91 games they beat us out for the division
In 2001 when we won 116 they won 102
In 2002 when we won 93 games they won the AL West with 103
In 2003 when we won 93 again they won the AL West again this time with 96 wins

I remember last month when the Angels were imploding I thought our playoff spot was secured. Then here comes Oakland. I honestly can't even name 5 players on the Oakland starting lineup.
