They are wearing World Series rings.
They tell me you say stupid shit as your shtick, but I wonder.

The elusive 'they'. Alwayz hidin' just around the corner. Kinda like bigfoot. They tell me you say stupid shit as your shtick, but I wonder.
If I was the Mariners' GM, I don't think I'd make any major moves unless I felt it would help beyond 2018. While the Mariners could grab a wild card slot, the odds of them having a meaningful playoff run in an AL featuring the Astros, Red Sox, Yankees and Indians is pretty slim.
Sell off? 18 games over .500 and you are suggesting a fire sale? Well, that's certainly thinking outside the box. Probably be the first time in MLB history that a team was 18 games .500 and threw in the towel.Dipoto has to do something. He either has to buy where they have a punchers chance or sell off guys like Paxton, Cruz and hell see what the Astros would give up for Pazo's or Diaz.
I more or less just thought it was interesting. The schedule flow has definitely been different this year. Also a lot less games after the break. Makes every single one matter that much moreTrue, but not sure if that is a good thing with Mariners history.

They had a pretty soft schedule pre ASB, too.
A third of their games were against Texas, Detroit, ChiSox, KC, and Orioles, the five worst teams in the AL (including arguably the three worst teams in baseball). That is not the case post ASB.
Agreed- couldn't have said it better myself. I think most teams get hot and then cool or cold. Look at Houston, they were hot as hell and then hit a cool streak, the M's were rocking it and now hit a low point, the A's were sucking and now they're on the upswing. The only team I can think of that has been at the bottom of the barrel and hasn't had a "hot" streak is Baltimore, but Toronto is not too far off from that either. Problem with the Mariners is that they were lucky and were able to win those 1 or 2 run games thanks to Diaz and baseball luck. I think the M's are just a "better than average" team- not a post season contender.

They cannot keep with the status quo or it is just another wasted year in purgatory with no reenforcements in the farm system.
I'm not saying sell, though if they come to the conclusion that they can't make themselves good enough then that it is a viable option even with how many games they are above .500. They cannot keep with the status quo or it is just another wasted year in purgatory with no reenforcements in the farm system coming like the Yankees, Red Sox and Astros have had/have.

Right. Even the winner of the central is a pure joke and won't be more than a speed bump in the post season. The entire AL is a soft schedule except NY, Boston, Houston, the Angels and A's.
