I never said the Mariners have no shot against the Indians. I said they have a slim shot of going very far because they’d likely have to face three of the top four teams in the playoffs.
I included the Indians because they’re one of the top teams. Run diff of +82, which ranks 4th in the AL and 5th in MLB. Compare that to the Mariners run diff of -2. They’ve scored the 4th most runs in MLB and their starting pitchers’ ERA ranks 3rd. The bullpen is a wreck, but there’s time to sort that out.
Despite the outcome of those seven games, the Mariners would not be favored in a series against the Indians.
