I am sure this has been brought up many times before but I think we can discuss it again.

With the NBA booming right now I think it is inevitable that expansion happens

Anybody suggest certain cities? We can also talk about possible relocation of any teams now

I can name a few spots that I think are locks

Seattle- building a brand new stadium for an NHL team
Vancouver- Still a shame that they left in the first place. World class city
Vegas- The NHL has been a success so far and its a matter of time

I am against expansion,

But I think Vegas and Seattle would be the top 2 options. Hell no to Vancouver. Talk about the deck being stacked against you.

It is hard enough to get players to buy into playing in toronto, one of the top markets in the entire league. Vancouver would sound like a prison sentence to the average 20 year old NBA rookie.

NBA market is over-saturated. I see teams moving for better $$$$ instead of expansion.

I think its time for the NBA to expand past the canadian and american borders. A mexico city team would be a good start. Mexico City Matadors. Hawaii, The Hawaii Fruit Punch. Hmmm.....this entire expansion idea is racist.

Mexico City is a possibility.

Hawaii would be brutal for travel though.

We have enough teams unable to compete as it is.

We don't need more bad basketball.

Relocation maybe but hell no to expansion.

Seriously why do any pro sports teams want Mexico City? This is where to ratings and players safety blurs lines. A team will be broke spending as much on security for 41 games like the NFL does for one game.

Biggest markets not currently in the NBA (and where they would rank in today's NBA):

Montreal (11th)
Seattle (15th)
Vancouver (21st)
St Louis (22nd)
Pittsburgh (24th)
Baltimore (24th)
Nashville (24th)
San Diego (25th)
Kansas City (27th)
Las Vegas (27th)

Seattle is an obvious choice. Montreal is a pretty solid no due to travel time IMO. The rest can't be separated by much, and Vegas does stick out as a favorable choice given the NHL's success there.

If I were to bet on it, I'd say that the top 2 destinations for expansion or for a team to move to would be Seattle, then Las Vegas.

Seattle because they kind of got screwed and Las Vegas because the NHL is already there and the Raiders are moving there.

I think these are two destinations for relocation.

Orlando should move to Seattle. Then flip the Pelicans to the Eastern Conference.

Agree. I'd prefer to see a couple of teams move rather than seeing the league expand.

I personally am leaning no. Robtoxin has it right.

The NBA is no longer a league where the top talent is spread. Those 4 new teams would be where maybe they get a rookie that's great for a few years, then drop back to the lottery. When he joins up with a better team. If the NBA could somehow curb the superstars combining, then go for it. Otherwise just adding another 4 teams to the bottom of the barrel doesn't interest me.

OKC owner basically stole the supersonics. He never had any intention of staying and the first chance he got he hightailed it to OKC.

BRING BACK THE SUPERSONICS!!!!!!!
