ESPN Shutting Down Team Forums

The Shutting down of the ESPN forums is a heart breaking move for many people but lets be honest. The ESPN Forums died when they changed the format and the influx of massive trolling. I am glad myself that this will inject many new members to our new home for talking football. Sportshoopla will be our domain for our talking and venting. The Future looks bright for us here.

Effective July 17, ESPN will be shutting down forums permanently. We hope you will move your communities to our game conversations, blogs and stories. A Facebook account will be required to post comments on new articles.

I saw this coming! Many major sites have been shutting down their sites and frankly I never thought that ESPN valued their forums.

i was able to post a few times now i can not even sign in. It just sends me back to the sign in page. I was able to put out the word about Sportshoopla one last time though in a thread asking where people were going to go.

Harold, did this also happen to you when you got banned? I can't sign in over there, to try and recruit peeps from the team boards. They banned me and two alt accounts.

Yup I just can not sign in period. I got suspend a short while back and started a new account that I could post with ( the trolls had a field day with that!) that doesn't work either. At the rate they are going nobody is going to be able to post, 17th is the shut down date, they might as well shut down now.

sad day, I didn't really post there but I watched and read the forms all most daily to see what was happening to my team. I really liked the tweet selection which allowed you to see news and stories that I found interesting. Show the change in the form and like many I disliked it. (too much like facebook, hated the post under comment section the most, made it hard to follow when I went back to the page later) and I was getting ready to start posting when the trolls took the place apart. Still not sure why ESPN would remove the place, it was a great place to learn and hear other fans thoughts on the team.

One of our mods figured it out -> go to the main espn board, and sign in from there, then you can navigate to the team boards. If you could hit a few other boards over there with the heads-up, would be appreciated. You may have to be creative spelling sports SportsHoopla, insert some blanks en sech.

Welcome, Donyell hope you like this board...I think you'll love it once you check out "all" the boards. Some interesting boards.

Also this board provides some bells and whistles that ESPN didn't. We'll go into that later.
