McKenzie hearing 10 years, $40 million. Doesn't know the structure.

Think Pegula would put both Hecht and Kotalik in the minors to afford Richards? Thats like 6 million down the tubes.

I have a feeling that Pegula knows exactly what he is doing, and I'm just excited that we finally are doing something come July 1st instead of simply losing players.

For right now, I'm going to sit back, and enjoy the ride.

FYI Boss,
Among all D-men last year
Ehrhoff was

15th in assists
14th in plus/minus
7th in points
6th in Goals

To get a player like that with a cap hit of $4 million is nuts! I can't believe it, but it seems like players are already taking a discount to come to Buffalo.

I must be dreaming.

10 years...WOW. AND a 4 million cap hit? I don't like the term, but what a cap hit.

If this is true, great signing for Buffalo, and bad move by Ehrhoff.

Will the NHL take a closer look at this contract?!? This smells a little like Kovalchuk part deux.

If this was us and not Buffalo making this deal, you could bank on it.

If its a 10 year contract it's completely legit. Do you really think a D-man won't be around playing when he's 38? This contract, if it is 10 years does not take Ehrhoff past his legitimate retirement age like the Kovy deal did.

I was thinking more of the structure (i.e. how much it's front-loaded) rather than the length and how much it drops off towards the end. We'll just have to wait and see the details.
