Jesus H Crackers men............throw the fucking ball over the plate. You've got a huge lead.

I guess this is what the minors playing in the majors is all about though.

It is true about them declining, but my point was that their production which was needed to get us to where we needed to be in 2010 and 2011 was not replaced.

Tough to catch lightning in a bottle on a consistent basis, which is exactly what we did with Napoli and to a lesser extent, Cruz.

I was really asking as he hasn't been on the field anywhere close enough to make that contract worth it. As most of us knew he would continue to break down on the health front. Now this phantom rib injury that nothing shows up on the MRI shouldn't surprise anyone and its about the time of the year for it

No, he isn't worth that contract and he could have performed a lot better than he has and still not have been worth it.

Klein has lost his command, gotta get someone in there

Our 2 pitchers walked 6 men in the 6 innings, which will normally get your teams ass kicked.

Gotta give JD credit for letting these guys go if you're going to bust his balls for not "replacing their production".

I just hope the next time JD is looking for lightning that he doesn't look towards aging players with bloated contracts.

I think we are going to have to hope for some lightning from the minors next time. That is why I don't think our window opens back up until 2016 or maybe even 2017.

Thing is, he did exactly that with Colby Lewis, and Beltre. It's easy to say stuff like that in hindsight.

Honestly, I'm okay with producing a WC contending team next year and a real contender in 2016. We've got the talent to be legit in 2016.

I originally brought up Josh, and Josh alone, and you turned that into a group discussion about Nap, Kins, Cruz, etc.

My point was, when I posted about 2 pages ago was, Josh was not worth it and "perhaps" JD should get some credit for not re-signing this over demanding asshole.

It was a simple man-to-contract point and nothing more. And the Rangers, regardless if it was silly luck or good foresight, didn't resign him.

I give him credit for not signing Hamilton to what the Angels gave him. I do wish he would have opened up negotiations in earnest a year earlier with him though. Once that didn't happen JD made the right move in not giving Hamilton what he got from the Angels. With Napoli I think JD should have pursued him when his first contract with Boston fell apart. He should have pursued Cruz when the market for Cruz shriveled up. I have no problem with him trading Kinsler, I just wish we wouldn't have picked up a guy who played like he was hurt the year before and who had 7 years left on his bloated contract.

I also give JD credit for not overpaying for Greinke and for getting guys like Perez, Holland, and Andrus locked up for awhile.

Nevertheless, he has not come close to replacing the firepower we once had. That's the reason we struggled on offense so much in 2013 when we almost led the AL in games where we only scored 3 runs or less. Only the Astros were worse at that than us last season.

Next season will hinge primarily on pitching acquisitions or lack of, need a big run producing bat but I don't know where that would come from and if it could even be done and acquire pitching. I see this team winning more games next year, but I can really say that I am happy to be going into the season with a fresh start that we haven't had in 9 years.

Cron Ranger killer does it again

I understood your point. I am just saying that JD never replaced the firepower that we have lost. If it makes you feel better then amend what I said to JD never replaced the production that Josh gave us.

Making me "feel better" Bennie has nothing to do with the point. And as usual, you're maneuvering yours.

It doesn't make shit-to-Shine-Olla about replacing Hamilton when - in the vacuum of posting here - the point was, not resigning Hamilton was a GREAT move.

That's all I said, and what I said is fact.
