Rangers are embarrassing everyone but themselves the last 6 games for a change. Hopefully this winning will come to an end when they see the new division champs. Angels don't have loads to play for, but I don't see them letting up. Back to losing please. We need that first pick.

Angels still have to play for home field advantage in the playoffs - so they should play their "usual" lineup against us. (after giving almost everyone a night off tonight)

I hope we lose the series, but don't get embarrassed / swept. Win 1 out of 3 please. Save your wins for the A's at the end of the year! We can't really hurt the Angels, but we can hurt the A's still.

At this point I just don't want to lose 100, odds looking good, 3-7 the rest of the way needed

Rockies and D-Backs split would be good. Would allow Texas to win 63 and still get 1:1.

We could lose the rest besides when we play the A's and I'd be fine with it. We really need to get swept by the Angels with COL playing ARI.

I don't care if we have to lose 102 games. I just want that first pick at this point.

Does anyone know how the tie breaker goes? I would think head to head and that puts us in good shape with Colorado, but we haven't played Arizona I don't think. Maybe it is run differential because no one can compete with us in that area.

As Texas looks for its new skipper, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports that there’s some mutual interest between the team and former cornerstone Michael Young. Sources tell Rosenthal that any past issues between Young and general manager Jon Daniels have been settled. Young, of course, had a tumultuous end to his time with the Rangers and at one point requested a trade, going on the record stating that he had “been misled and manipulated” and was “sick of it.”
Daniels told reporters, including Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News, that he expects the managerial search to pick up steam the week after the regular season’s conclusion. The Texas GM said that he is considering a wide variety of candidates, including one “just off the field” candidate, which could of course be Young. However, Grant notes that Young may not be ready to jump back into the game. Young turned down multiple offers that would’ve paid him more than $4MM to play in 2014 to be close to his family, Grant writes. Grant also speculates that 39-year-old Gabe Kapler could surface as a candidate, though Kapler declined to comment when reached by Grant last week.

How about Buechele as bench coach with MY being the hitting instructor.

I am hoping Buechele gets the manager job myself.

I am liking Bogar so far. Not just because they've won 6 in a row either. I wanna see what he can do and with people like that around him I think they could do some winning.

I am with you on Bogar. Really have no complaints on his in game moves and not taking the bat out of the hitters hands. And mixes things up in regards to the lineup.

I agree completely. I've also liked the in game moves so far. It's weird to have the guys warm and ready before the pitcher gets lit up. The players seem to respond well to him also. I hope whoever takes over takes out the trash (Pettis & Magadan).

Short sample size aside, I'm on board with Bogar as well. It's nice to see a manager who actually seems to have a grasp on in-game strategy.

Puts Ron's in game management in a little better perspective

That's awesome. A 3-1 in their favor or split is the best thing for Texas.
These last four games against Oakland here will be key for us getting the #1 pick. Especially seeing how we just man handled them there.

Umm go Angels?
They clinched. Not sure what to expect from them now. I'm sure they would want a better record than Baltimore, however. This series should be interesting.
