btw, ken anderson is a good comparison to plunkett as both overalapped roughly the same years and played thru the old and new rules and 14 to 16 game schedule.

using only the years anderson started 9+ games he averaged 2,440 yards a year.

and yeah, anderson was a good comp% guy especially the final few years of his career as a starter, under those new rules.

So he moves the ball and scores the ball, yet you want to complain?

And he's barely won half the games he's started, missed the playoffs more than he's made them, been one and done every time he has made the playoffs and lost, has a sub-standard completion percentage and a sub-standard QB rating.

He's a mediocre QB, through and through. Anyone other QB with Eli's stats would've been out of the league a decade ago.

one more time

in 1974 plunkett finished 2nd in pasing yards. the leader was ken anderson with 2667. Plunkett had 2457 (off memory).

if plunkett averaged that for a decade he would be, well...right where he is. half his career was a 14 game schedule in the 70's, when ken anderson led the nfl with that 2667 yards.

today 2667 yards over a season is called the half way point for most today.
One year?

How impressive.

Let me know when he's in the top 10 in moving the ball and scoring the ball.

He's seventy years old now, probably won't make it.

"When Eli wins 2 Super Bowls, it's because of the team, when Eli misses the playoffs, it's because of Eli Manning"

Take it up with the Giants.

The two rings proves they were smarter about it than you are.

The two rings prove a team will stick with a QB that sucks but get you two SB wins for longer than a team will stick with a QB that sucks and gets you no rings. Doesn't change the argument that Eli sucks.

Have I made that argument?

No, I haven't.

Back to the drawing board, fella.
You did.
In the post he quoted too.
I'd even go as far to guess that's why he said it.

Fuck man. Be smarter.

there has also never been a QB in the 16 game schedule history to average 17.5 INT's a year and keep his job for over a decade.
he would have the lowest rating of any QB inducted since dan fouts in 93, and his thing was retiring as the leagues all time leader in passing yards.
eli's comp% in this era is a joke.

i get what youre saying, but you cherry picked a lot there, like i did.

Truth be told I just wanted to argue w/ you.:heh: I know how you feel about Eli. Although I gotta say you fucked up my game plan by mentioning the cherry picking of stats. In the future don't do that. Thank you.

All you dumbasses look the same

And you've forgot you're argument. You're the one that tries to convince us that you don't quite think Eli is Hall worthy, and then spend page after page defending Eli as if he's Hall worthy.

If your team drafts a QB, and I told you that in 15 years he'd win your city 2 Super Bowls, and as a bonus sending Tom Brady fanboys into a never ending spiral of complete misery

You signing up?

No, I didn't.

I've never argued that Eli didn't play good in 2 games. My entire argument is that it requires playing well for an entire career for one to get the HOF. And seeing as how Eli hasn't, I don't believe he's HOF worthy. He shouldn't get in the Hall just because "he beat Brady twice." That doesn't make him Hall of Fame worthy, otherwise Jake Plummer might as well be a HOF'er.

I don't think he's a HOFer

I Defend the levels people sink to in bashing him

Like comparing him to Jim Plunkett and Tim Tebow

I saw Peyton win a SB while putting up the worst season of his career. I won't complain about the SB. But I also won't act like Peyton had the greatest season ever just because he won a SB.
