how is this even true?

"It's a much more precise position these days and Eli has excelled amongst his peers."

manning has a career 59.8 comp% (in todays NFL?) and has thrown the most picks of any QB of his generation. he has an 83.5 career rating.

how is that excelling among his peers?

How has he excelled among his peers? Those 2 shiny S.B. rings? Read my # 235 comment. You won't like it, but it's true.

A lot of focus on QBR
I'll have you know that one Thomas Brady has a postseason QBR worse than Mark Sanchez and Tony Romo

And is a public hair ahead of Eli Manning and Joe Flacco

6th in yards.
8th in touchdowns.

Keep weeping about it. He gets it done and you want to cry about how exactly he does it.

You know what else is true?
Tim Tebow is closer to Plunkett than Plunkett is to Eli...

Don't run from your stupid, rock.
After I teach you, be smarter from that point on.

There's never been a QB in the history of the league that has 110+ W's, 50,000+ yards, 330+ TD's, 2 S.B. rings & 2 MVP's that's been left outta the HOF. Is Eli an average QB? Of course. But that doesn't mean he's not a lock for The Hall.
Easy lock from nearly every angle except the retard angle.

Eli has over 50,000.

So, Flacco has also "excelled" among his peers?

:laugh3:

Never said that. I only mentioned those 2 S.B. rings of Eli's because the Giants beat his Pats.

Do tell me what's wrong with the other guys in that very factual list.
Manning, go...
Brady, go...
Brees, go...
Marino, go...
Favre, go...

Also, you forgot to ridicule touchdowns. You know, the thing the entire game is about....
Go...

He throws TDs at about the same rate as Matt Stafford.

But apparently it's a difficult one to appreciate for some of us. Durability matters and he's lasted at the most important position in sports in the most demanding sports market on the planet for 14 seasons. That counts for something.. certainly as evidence that he's better than many others who didn't play as long.
Is Joe Flacco on his way to the hall? He has won a super bowl. He's started for 10 years and has played three more playoff games than eli. He also has a better career passer rating?

Does a guy who has never been in the conversation for best player at his position really have any business getting into the hall of fame?

there has also never been a QB in the 16 game schedule history to average 17.5 INT's a year and keep his job for over a decade.
he would have the lowest rating of any QB inducted since dan fouts in 93, and his thing was retiring as the leagues all time leader in passing yards.
eli's comp% in this era is a joke.

i get what youre saying, but you cherry picked a lot there, like i did.

Joe Flacco didn't win 2 Super Bowls

Thought it would help if everyone knew that

He has both.

Eli has over 50,000.
one more time

in 1974 plunkett finished 2nd in pasing yards. the leader was ken anderson with 2667. Plunkett had 2457 (off memory).

if plunkett averaged that for a decade he would be, well...right where he is. half his career was a 14 game schedule in the 70's, when ken anderson led the nfl with that 2667 yards.

today 2667 yards over a season is called the half way point for most today.
