Here are some #'s Tebow fans will never talk about. In 2011 he played in 14 games (starting 11). He had 14 fumbles, 6 int's & only completed 46.5% of his passes. In 2 playoff games that year he was 19-47 (40.4%).

'He just wins!'

When you hear announcers reach the bottom of the barrel with that quote, you know they can't justify it. They KNOW he sucks, but is getting bailed out by ridiculous defensive play, turnovers, Special Teams, etc. etc. Heard that quite a bit with Vince Young as well.

With every flush of my toilet, I send a better QB than Tim Tebow down the pipe.

Tebow's just another example in a long line of great college athletes that didn't live up to expectations @ the next level. It happens in every sport. But I can't remember another athlete having the kind of following he had in the NFL.

Living in the middle of Broncos Country I hear all the time about how Tebow gotta bad deal in the NFL. I tell them bullshit, he wasn't an NFL qb to begin with. Have no idea & don't care about what he's doing in baseball. But his NFL career was nothing short of laughable.

I think E. Manning is overrated, but lets get serious for a minute.

Tim Tebow?

How is he overrated if he is universally thought of as overrated?

Think bout that, who exactly is overrating him

Really?!? That's cult-ish....I don't know whether to laugh or shake my head at society.

When I 1st moved to CO. it was the 2010 season. By about the middle of the following season I figured out the quickest way to piss off a Broncos Maniac here in Boulder was to say Elway doesn't know what the hell he's doing & Tebow the QB sucks. I'm telling you they have no sense of humor.

also, to put a stat on it

look at tebows advanced passing stats. like OPS+ in baseball, the same applies to QB's. 100 is average. tebow was a 98, then an 85, as a QB.

i.e 5% below average, and 15% below. rex grossmans 2 best seasons were a 90 and an 84, in 13+ games.

hes a good comparison IMO.

still hard to believe he went to a SB. he threw 23 picks including the playoffs that year to 25 TD's all the way thru.

Doubting Elway in Bronco country AND bashing Tebow? Amazed you're still alive to tell the tale.

I think even voters may not think he passes the HOF eye test, but getting around the numbers and company he's keeping there, hard case

Oh I never said that stuff @ the same time. I don't have a death wish. Broncos football around here is a religion. And the 1st rule is you don't talk make jokes about them. Which is odd since their # 1 icon looks like a horse.

It's pretty difficult to find a Tebow comparison. At least Grossman had a 10 year, albeit a punchline of sorts, career. Like I said.....whenever I hear announcers babble the 'he just wins' comment, it's their last bastion to prop the guy up. Vince Young is the only guy in recent memory that I remember getting tagged with that label.

all true (but the retarded part), but if you dont consider eras its kinda silly. 2/3 of his career was in the 70's, and he was blessed with a great offensive line in NE (thats sarcasm btw)

20+ INT seasons

Eli - 3 (lead the NFL 3 times)
plunkett - 2 (both with shit NE teams, never lead the NFL)

again, consider eras on both sides of the equation.

both guys have 2 rings as starters.

The eras do matter, but the numbers are sooo much greater that the minds of some voters that will take him out of the Plunkett conversation...being a Manning playing in the media capital of the world...borderline, but I think enough...especially if he tacks on another 8,000 or so yards.

He's gonna get a lot of votes...enough to cross the threshold? Dunno. I don't think he's anywhere close to being a HOF player, but the last name and '2 rings' will give him a shot.

There's never been a QB in the history of the league that has 110+ W's, 50,000+ yards, 330+ TD's, 2 S.B. rings & 2 MVP's that's been left outta the HOF. Is Eli an average QB? Of course. But that doesn't mean he's not a lock for The Hall.

the last QB to play QB who couldnt throw a football well (mechanically) to be drafted, that i can think of, was browning nagle for the jets.

nagle had one good game in college, a fiesta bowl.

he had one good game in the nfl, his first start.

Tim Tebow is closer to Plunkett's yards than Plunkett is to Manning's.

Seriously.

If Tebow played QB back then he would have fit right in. It's a much more precise position these days and Eli has excelled amongst his peers.

Not only that but he has two rings to go with everything else. Quite the resume.

Max one sperm in the hall.

It's a rule that all the retards that can't accept Eli's terrific play swear by.

how is this even true?

"It's a much more precise position these days and Eli has excelled amongst his peers."

manning has a career 59.8 comp% (in todays NFL?) and has thrown the most picks of any QB of his generation. he has an 83.5 career rating.

how is that excelling among his peers?
