My point is defense and luck applies to most SB winning QBs

If Matt Ryan wasn't a complete choker, nick Foles is knocked out in round one last season

It wasn't him that prevented the Falcons from scoring from the 3 yard line

You are exactly right. Luck plays a big part in the playoffs. I honestly don't think a team can win a SB if they don't have some luck along the way. Eli rode a hot wave in one of his playoff runs. During the 2011 season he was really, really good and beat very good and probably better NE Patriots team. In 2007 he was more game manager than he was elite QB. The defense carried that 2007 team.

Aside from those 2 playoff seasons Eli too was a choke master. Aside from the SB seasons Eli lost every other playoff game he has played in and he was good in any of them.

My mind spits with an enormous kickback.

FWIW on rivers in 96...

LT, vincent jackson, and eric parker totaled 10 drops that game. not bad passes by rivers, but drops.

jackson was targeted 7 times, caught 2.

same with parker.

LT had a HUGE drop on 3rd down, wide open.

Eli would have been run out of this town if not for the 2 rings

To be honest I really don't want Eli in a big game either.

Considering how he plays in playoff losses,

0 wins, 4 losses, 64-118, 54.2%, 742 yards, 185.5 YPG, 3 TDs, 7 INTs, 57.2 QB rating

I agree. These numbers are slightly worse than Dalton's.

Nah..... Eli is still a good QB imo. Better than most. You do not last as long as he did in the NFL if you were not good. I just don't think he is elite.

No. It’s being the MVP in those two games is why we are having the conversation.

It's one thing to not be great. It's another to be abysmal.

I thought Eli was good in the playoffs.

The stats bear otherwise.

He has 2 rings and was good in 07 playoffs and sensational in 2011

He can suck all he wants in other playoff games, every fan in this forum would sign up for 2 rings from their QB, and it's why I defend him

Wrong, I'm not gonna retype it for you, go look at the postseason game logs in 07 and 11

He was better than Brady in Both postseason runs, not just the SBs

The Giants defense ranked middle of the pack in both years, people that always talk about the greatness of that defense is the only way from admitting Brady sucked

Here is the thing. Eli may have been better than those playoff seasons (I think 2007 was too close to call) but Brady is the standard in which great QB's are measured. Eli did great for a couple playoff seasons where all the stards seem to have properly aligned. Brady made a career out of it.

Brady has 27 playoff wins, Eli has 8. Brady has been to the playoffs 15 times, Eli 6. Tom Brady has 13 Pro Bowls, Eli has 4. The comparison may seem unfair but it is the standard that greatness is being measured. When you look at all the other HOF QB's they all have accolades that Eli just does not seem to be able to touch. They have been great over their careers. Eli has only been great in small samples.

Eli is like 15-2 vs the division Tom Brady has enjoyed his entire life

That is irrelevent. Eli routinely gets his ass handed to him by the Eagles and he alone has more SB victories than we do in our entire history.

He torched the Eagles for like 1000 yards in Philly last season

Nobody is asking you not to defend him or what he did for the New York Giants franchise.

Tim Tebow saved my franchise from impending obscurity. For that I will be eternally grateful. That doesn't mean I deny that he was a statistically mediocre quarterback.

Eli is a below average QB. Get over it.

So now the standard is 1 year instead of a career?

Stats and Rings is what HOF QBs are measured by

I personally don't care if he's in or not, he has earned his lifetime pass in this city

But there is gonna be a lotta dissapointment out there when he gets in
