Didn't realize the Honey badger is a FA also...a lot of options out there and someone is going to have to take less $ after they start going off the board
A lot of potential upgrades there for sure...Looking at all the safeties hitting the market...Earl, Landon Collins, Weddle, Amos, Joyner, Clinton Dix, Badger...waiting is probably a good strategy, as much as I want Earl in Dallas

I think it's a little of both. I agree if there is a guy you love then you grab him, but in a cap world the $'s have to make sense. I always feel you don't overpay, because there is always another option out there and I think this safety class screams that.I don't think so. Snooze, you lose. If you have the one you want, go out and get him.
Two more starting safeties hit the market in the last two days. There are literally 14-15 starting safeties out there. Last year, Tre Boston and Eric Reid didn't have jobs until after the season started. As much as I have lobbied for E.T., if we end up with a guy like Boston for $10 million less than we would have given Thomas per year, I can see the logic. The one thing I don't get right now is the hold up on DLaw's money. We are giving Witten $3.5 and have Lee on the books, for $7 million we could save by letting him go, DLaw is worth more than both of those guys and then some(today, certainly not 5 years ago)I don't think so. I think the badger goes to Tampa.Didn't realize the Honey badger is a FA also...a lot of options out there and someone is going to have to take less $ after they start going off the board
If true, Adios EarlI saw a report today that Earl wants 2 million more a year than the highest paid safety.
I agree pay D-law!! I do not like dragging this thing out.Two more starting safeties hit the market in the last two days. There are literally 14-15 starting safeties out there. I'd like us to sign Collins because he's younger than Thomas and has more upside. Cobb hasn't stayed healthy the past four seasons so I hope we don't sign him.I'd like to see Jerry go for it, sign Earl Thomas for the D and Randall Cobb for the O and let's go
The draft could help at those positions of need.My concern is... they dont sign any. We have all seen glaring positions of need and they just blow it off and roll with a below averge player at the position. Seen this movie too many times.
Who knows what we end up doing, but I suspect doing the same for and now paying Cooper plays a roleThe odd thing about earl is we were going t give up a 2nd rounder and then obviously pay him. Now we are not going to even try to sign him?
They pass on safety in the early rounds every year. They don't seem to value the position. The draft could help at those positions of need.
Landon Collins is one Hell of a football player, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a bigger contract than Thomas because of the age difference
