He’s somewhere between lukewarm and hot but given his past few seasons, and the scrutiny he faces, Wentz’s seat always trends toward hot. He has missed the past four games while on injured reserve. Wentz started off strong, with seven touchdown passes in the first two games, but in the next four games he threw three touchdown passes and the offense scored a combined 47 points. The issues don’t all stem from Wentz — he’s a byproduct of shaky pass protection while also learning a new offense. But his contract is not guaranteed beyond this season, so even though Washington gave up multiple draft picks for him, Wentz will have to play well and show improvement once he returns. — John Keim Last Week: 18

IMO I think Wentz should get another chance. If it is TH I will route for him to win. There was no competition with KC. I always routed for him to win but when he throws the game winning INt and then wants to be paid like the highest in the league that's when i get upset.

  He's eligible to come off injured reserve having spent the mandatory four weeks out, but the team he left is in a much different place with Taylor Heinicke leading them to three wins in four games. We'll probably get another update on Wentz's status at some point this week, but the Commanders don't seem to be -- and probably shouldn't be -- in any rush to get him back to the starting role.

I believe that last night the announcers said Alex Smith was 11-5 (??!!!??!!) as a starter, and that other than TH, the rest of the starters since Kirk Cousins were 19-37. Take out Alex Smith, and the rest of the qb's were 8-32. Yeesh.

Dean is revising history again I see. As I previously discussed with Dean this offseason:

According to “a source with knowledge of the Redskins decision,” Cousins’ camp offered the Redskins a “three-year deal last February worth $19.5 [million] a year with significant guarantees.” That offer was still on the table in July.

The Redskins reportedly offered Kirk Cousins a deal worth $16 million a year, with $24 million dollars guaranteed last year, and didn’t budge off of that number.

The Redskins lowballed Cousins with their counteroffer in 2016 and spit in his face. In 2017, Bruce Allen went to the media and mispronounced Cousins' name multiple times and claimed they were trying to work out a deal. The deal was a joke and Cousins wisely preferred the tag again. The deal was barely more than the transition tag itself and was only 1 more year guaranteed beyond 2017. It was a bloated deal and Allen knew it.

There is no evidence Cousins demanded to be the highest-paid QB in the NFL while negotiating with Allen. After the 2016 lowball offer and Allen's antics in 2017, Cousins was never coming back as the damage was done. I explained this to Dean and he continues to make up stories about Cousins' contract demands. Minnesota ended up paying him top QB money in 2018, but there is no evidence that Cousins requested this from WSH. Sadly, the smear campaign continues against Cousins. If Allen would have agreed to Cousins agent offer in 2016, he would have been the 9th highest paid QB in the league in 2017.

Well GB just beat Dallas. So there goes that theory. I believe the oline is giving TH way more time than it did Wentz. I dont see what TH did in the last 4 games that makes him continue to be the starter of this team. 0-4 with Wentz? Really? Yes it's a fact the team is playing better these last 4 games.

How is TH the main difference? Still throws the costly picks in the 4th qtr. He needs the defense to be all world to be in the game. He needs a strong running game to be in games. Your evidence was a singular good game in the most recent week to refute the fact they have been horrible up until that moment? Are you suggesting their offense was really good all season but every team, except for Dallas, played so fantastic defensively it just made GB look bad? You are right. We don’t know what wentz would have done. But what we do know is that the entire team is playing better with TH under center. They love the guy and his guts and competitiveness. The team plays harder. Surely you can see this?
